How did you get cm10 to run on the stock slot

Sent from my XT907 using Xparent Blue

get the rom get it to where you happy with it... make a back up of it. than go back switch back to stock partition wipe internal storage, cache ,factory reset, system and dalvik... it has to be done other wise it wont delete the odex files... and you know you installing in stock rom because system has a red lettering... than after you do all the wiping. restore the back up you made... and it should work... worked for me and some others who followed directions accordingly...

I am not responsible for any damages to your phone, please follow steps in order do not skip, and know that if you want to go back to original you will have to fastboot... If you dont understand a step.. ask

  • Create a ROMSlot1
  • Flash the custom ROM to ROMSlot1
  • Bootup the ROM
  • Configure your ROM to your liking (this is if you have other flashable mods like DST or a different SuperUser)
  • Reboot into Recovery
  • Make a Backup of your ROM (save it to external storage)
  • Switch to Stock partion (you know you in stock when "install" and System" turn to red font)
  • wipe Phone (cache, Dalvik, Factory Reset, System, and finally Internal storage)
  • restore back up (if done right the only file available will be the back up you just made)
  • Confirm restore
  • DONE!!! enjoy your custom rom in stock partition
If It works pass it on and like the post. thank you :excl:

cool at least one person supports what i been saying all along... you can have a custom rom in Stock but it takes a bit of work... i have tried it with CM10 and it worked fine as well but i like the stock based cuz everything works.

really? i don't recall anyone arguing that this method doesn't work. again, all i'm saying is that installing updates DIRECTLY to the stock partition doesn't work as it says it does in the op.

I didn't want help... I was just stating that putting CM10 on the stock slot with those instructions didn't work. I've tried it before and was seeing if doing it that way works. I already restored my ROM (Eclipse 1.2) on stock.

I've been trying to flash 4.2.2 Roms onto my Razr HD with safestrap 3.12 (CM 10.1, SlimBean, Liquid...), and all of them report a successful install, and none of them will boot past the SS splash screen.  They just stay a dark screen until I reboot, except SlimBean, which flashes the notification light red after about a minute.  RageHD's 4.1 works great, and I've done all the wipes and even remade the ROM slots, and tried installing in ROM slot 1 (some post said 4.2.1 ROM needed to be flashed there), so SS is probably installed correctly.  Is there some easy answer I'm missing?  And if there's a better place to post let me know.

Is your bootloader unlocked?? I don't think you can install 4.2.2 roms on a locked device. It's a Kernel issue.

I figured it would be something like that.  No, it's not unlocked, so that would be it.  I've been having trouble figureing out what you can and can't do with a locked bootloader and SS.  If I unlock it, does SS work with 4.2.2 ROMS (or work at all), or would I have to use TWRP/CWMR?

If you can unlock, you have to have not installed the latest update. You need twrp or cwm for the newer roms

You're going to have to read through the ROM threads and verify which will work with SS. However off the top of my head here's a list:

-Energy was designed for SS and has not been modified for UL bootloader
-Flying Jelly was designed for SS, but may have been redesigned for UL bootloader, you'll need to read through the thread
-CM10 may still work with SS, but I'm not sure, you'll need to read through the thread
-Eclipse version 1.2 is designed for SS; don't use the newer version, it's designed for UL bootloader
^^^All of these are available on this forum.

Does anyone have a safestrap apk for the Razr M?  The apk doesn't seem to exist in any of the links or on Hashcodes page.

Thanks, I was able to get the safestrap apk from hashcode's site.  I think you are correct, I don't believe hashcode is supporting this.  Unfortunately the M I purchased came with the unlockable system making safestrap and older roms my only option.

Finally was able to root RAZR M. Have SS 3.12 installed but I am unable to make a ROM Slot. Stock is there but when I go into boot options and ROM Slot, it shows 1532 avail and of course that is not enough room to make a ROM Slot. Have 32 gig SD Card with nothing really on it. What am I doing wrong?

The slots are created on internal memory, NOT the sd card.
