this is my last resource. got an XT925 a year and half ago. didn't use it until now. used it for two weeks and the 'M' logo was stuck when booting.  I tried everything in AP Fastboot and nothing worke. i  even tried factory wipe in the external hard reset.  can't even get into the android lying down now with the yellow exclamation.

I've tried almost every possible solution out there. Right now I am only able to get to AP Fastboot and that's it! anything out there to get this phone up and running?  this is all i see:

AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)

10.9B(*) (sha-61146a2, 2014-05-02 03:15:48)

eMMC Info: Size 16GB

Device in UNLOCKED, Status Code:3

Battery OK

Transfer Mode:

USB Connected

Fastboot Reason: Boot menu selected

usb connected

Like I said, I've tried everything. I even get error messages such Invalid partition or when trying to install CWM or TWRP

Motorola XT925

Thanks

Thx for your reply. I have tried that too. I even edit the firmware to and deleted the 'get var' 'oem'' lines. I just want to go back to original factory settings. Most forum suggest I need to ensure my USB debugging is on, but I can't even get into my phone to enable it. I only unlock the boot loader because most people said I needed to.

Also, what firmware are you flashing, exact name. Does your AP Fastboot screen show "Battery OK"?

He said it had not been used for 1 year and 1/2 and he turned it back on and it worked for 2 weeks, then it went south...thats why i said what i said...so this phone hasnt had any updates in the last year and 1/2 then, just seems strange it would just up and go poof without something being done, unless hardware failure happened.

my 1/2 cent

Battery is OK

Here is the firmware I am trying:

7.7.1Q-144_VQL_S3-49_USERSIGNED_CANADA_SIGNCanadaIRDUnlk_USAVANQURGRCANA005.0R_CFC_fastboot.xml

The error message on RSD Lite 6.1.6:

Failed flashing process. 1/20 flash partition "partition_signed" -> Phone returned FAIL

The error message on the phone:

downgraded security version

update gpt_main version failed

preflash validation failed for GPT

I have even tried RSD Flasher, error message:

Extract failed. check your zip file and extract manually

I extracted it manually with winrar, but when i tried flashhing with any of the option, nothing came up. i don't even get the other window that suppose to open up.

Thanks everyone

First off, it is unnecessary to extract it as RSD will do so for you. Secondly, the error you are getting tells you the problem, you are trying to flash older firmware than what was on your device. You need the same or newer. That should be able to be found here -

Your bootloader must be unlocked in order to flash a custom recovery. The invalid partition error when flashing recovery sounds like you might have the fastboot command incorrect?

i tried your suggestion and still get the same error on the phone:

downgraded security version

update gpt_main version failed

preflash validation failed for GPT

I tried both version of the firmware for Rogers (Canada)

Any other ideas?

That's saying that you're still trying to downgrade.  Do you know what version you were on, prior to the issues you're having?  Did you flash the FW from here:

I did try the FW from the link.  I don't know which FW it was because I didn't use the phone for over a year and a half. There's only two FW listed. I tried both FW and they both didn't work.

FW 4.0.4 could not run as it was saying the file extension is too long

FW 4.1.2 got an error on 3/23

Am I missing something else?
