I would love to but I don't know how to flash something at the moment. Recovery just shows the android with an exclamation point in a red triangle above him, and wont advance no matter what buttons i press and flashify won't work without root. Any other methods?

I'm sorry if I sound like a noob, but those two methods have always worked for me :-(

This is going to open up your world LOL.. Go to this thread. http://www.droidrzr....-unlocked-only/

Read and Read again and follow the instructions.  You will never be with out root again, and once you have done this a couple times its a breeze.  Just be sure to follow the instructions.  The newest twrp recovery is here: http://downloads.bli...covery/xt926/   TWRP 2.8.5.0  make sure you reboot from fastboot mode right into recovery.. Upon rebooting from recovery twrp will prompt you to root the phone.  Just follow the instructions and after boot completes it will then prompt you to install supersu by chainfire from twrp or the playstore.  Use the playstore option.  After that when supersu is updated it will update just like any other app.

Hi, so I have been running CM12 happily for 4 months or so, with several dirty and clean flashes along the way. I updated to the version released on 021715. Everything was working fine then all of a sudden my screen went blank. So I rebooted and after the bootanimation my screen just goes blank. Same thing when I try to boot into TWRP, so recovery is out the window. I was wondering what my next step would be in fixing my issue. Would I flash back a standard FXZ? And if so, which one?

Since your bootloader is unlocked you can go to the .15 build. Look in the House of Moto 4.1 for instructions in the op.  Read them and read them again. Follow exactly what he has laid out.

I tried that and it's back up and running (thank you very much, by the way), but TR and moto chopper both failed to root my phone. Any other options?

Since you're unlocked, you no longer need to use root exploits. Flash TWRP, it has an option that will root for you.
