The site below can tell if a Motorola Droid Razr is unlockable or not.

I found out the hard way that my Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD is not unlockable.

It is unlockable IF you have NOT updated to the latest android version for that phone..... But NOT via the Motorola site

It is -or was- on 4.1.2

I tried the method you suggested.

Could not get it to work.

Ask for help here.

No one responded.

It's is bricked now.

For sale on ebay for parts, not working.

What help did you ask for?...... Hard bricked? Or soft bricked? What did you flash to it?
And 4.1.2 is not a system version

It wasn't bricked when I ask for help the first time.

I followed the instructions you sent me in a reply.

First ask for help here:

Solved this but was never able to complete the first requirement of upgrading.

When no one responded after a few days, I went elsewhere. Do not know what casued the brick.

The phone will not boot up now. Can not get into recovery or download mode.

If someone will try and help solve my problem, I'll cancel the listing on Ebay.

You say you went "elsewhere".... What did you do from there?..... Because the way you're describing it, it sounds like you flashed the wrong firmware to it....

I never attempted to flash any software except the VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.26-10.1_CFC_1FF.xml as per instructions.

I was trying to get through the first requirement of the instructions which required running 'motopocalypse' to unlock the phone.

Motopocalypse was never successful.

Typically motoapoclypse is not known for bricking a device.... Usually of it fails, it just fails, no muss no fuss....

Regardless .....
Will it take a charge from an AC charger? NOT USB from the computer...if it does, let it sit for about 4-5 hours.
Then You could TRY a team black hat factory adapter or cable and flash the proper firmware again.....

If that won't work, then I'm sorry to say, its probably dead dead

The green light comes on when plugged in to the charger. I assume that it is charging.

After a bit, AP Fastboot comes on. That is all it will do. Can not get out of fastboot mode.

Holding the power button down for a long time, the Motorola logo come on (red circle).

However, release the power button and it's back into fastboot mode instantly.

Try with House of Moto
.... Also... When doing ANY flashing.... Make sure you are using an OEM Motorola cable, AND you are NOT using a 3.0 USB port

House of Moto is running now.

Reads:

Writing Script: F:\HouseOfMoto\MOTO\flashme.bat

Do I cd into that directory and run flashme.bat or what?

No instructions.

Making progress!

When turning the phone on now, it still boots up into fastboot mode.

Volume up + power puts it into recovery mode.

Selecting normal recovery works and the phone boots up.

However, it shows a dead battery.

It's charging now.

Will contact again later.

Update.

Battery is charged.

Boots up to ap fastboot with Sticky bit Factory_restart.

Went here:

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

Tried this: Then Typed: fastboot oem fb_mode_clear

W7 said fastboot not installed.

Downloaded and installed adb-setup-1.4.2.exe. Same fastboot oem fb_mode_clear error as before.

Downloaded this: [TheMythTeam.com][Installer] ADB - APKTOOL - FASTBOOT.exe (3.60 MB)

W7 says it is not a valid .exe file. Downloaded same file elsewhere. Same error.

That is where things stand as of now.

To boot the phone, press power, ap fastboot opens

Press Volume up + power to get into recovery.

Then enter normal recovery and the phone boots up.

Also, phone goes into ap fastboot mode when plugging in the charger.

Also, the sim card that was in the phone when it was working, is installed.

However, The page telling you a sim card is needed opens.

I'm trying to use Windows.

I'm not use to it and with all the pop ups and redirects, I'm having a tough go of it.

The last line of ap fastboot is : ap fastboot with Sticky bit Factory_restart.

I'll see if I can get a photo uploaded.
