OK, so, am I correct in this?

Install 6.0.1 via HoN, including TWRP (since I want it and will not be taking OTAs) and then boot into TWRP and install SuperSU 2.67 ,then reboot into system and my device should not be encrypted?

And if I reboot into system first, then the encryption is on, which means no one can get to my files unless they log into the system itself, correct?

Finally, systemless root does not block Android Pay, does it

Also, another thought - how do I now enable the HotSpot feature if I cannot modify system files?

With systemless root and the updates that google has made to Android Pay while you were out of a phone there are some steps that need to be done to get it working again with root.

You still have to rename or delete /su/xbin_bind I just rename it to /su/xbin_bind.bak so it is easy to put back for use with FlashFire.

You also have to change permissions on the /su/bin folder to 751 from 755 this can be done either with root explorer or from the adb shell

ie:

-from adb shell run "su"
-from adb shell run "chmod 751 /su/bin"

On encryption: I want mine encrypted so I haven't played with that option.

Just updated SuperSU to version Beta 2.68.  Changes and download: http://forum.xda-dev...-v2-05-t2868133

No longer have to manually change the permissions on /su/bin to 751. It is taken care of during the install.

To update flash zip via twrp, No need to clean up before install as this is also done via the install script unless you have modified the previous install to keep Android pay working. ie rename /su/xbin_bind folder.

  1. adb reboot bootloader
  2. fastboot boot "{fullpath to}twrp-3.0.0-1-shamu.img"
  3. Entered password to unlock
  4. Installed SuperSU 2.68b
  5. Rebooted system

Phone rebooted a couple of times but it seems I am back up and running now.
