Dont wanna be spoiled?  Dont keep reading.

I loved the movie overall.  I loved how it was basically a movie to kill the old plot hole that has existed since episode 4 first came out.  Did anyone else feel that the darth vader scene at the end was totally "disneyed?"  Yes, he went ape crap on those rebels but when he actually used his saber they refused to show any gore despite the PG13 rating.  The scene itself was still awesome, regardless.

Other points.

- Rey has no relation to the Orso family

- Saw deserved more screen time and a better end than "Im just gonna stay behind cuz im tired of this crap"

- Vader was awesome, but I still wish they would have had him in his Prime rather than well into episode 4 times, a flashback would have been nice.

- The old footage/CGI carrie fisher was awesome, the whole end scene was just awesome.  Mae you wanna pop episode 4 into the blu ray player right away.

- Was cool to see C3PO and R2D2, but not so much that you cringed.

- I like that everyone died for the cause.

- I wasnt overly impressed with Donnie Yens character, he was kind of goofy.

Im sure ill think of more once you guys bing up points of your own.

Just got back from it.  Yes, I immediately put Episode IV in and am watching it now.  Love how they tied it together so well.  Yes, everyone died.  They had to.  This is a similar problem that Rebels is going to run into.  I liked the guardian monk character quite a bit.  Donnie did a good job.  The Erso family lineage is, um, pretty short.  LOL.  Loved the Vader scene.  Shows how badass he really is.  Of course it left me wondering why he didn't do that in the beginning of Episode IV given how important getting those plans back really was.  All in all, I liked it a lot.  I will warn parents, younger viewers may struggle with it.

Re: Rebels - The call over the loud speaker for General Syndulla, was for Hera or Cham? I'm leaning towards it being Hera because a ship that looked like the Ghost was in the space battle scene. I loved how they used the Hammerhead transport vs Star destroyer. I'm pretty sure I saw Chopper in the background on Yavin.

Damnit, I'm going to have to pay more attention when I take my son between Xmas and New Years.  That's freaking awesome though!! Yes, I did get the hammerhead and loved that.

As for my actual review, I enjoyed it alot but it has some pacing issues in the first 2/3 of the movie that are made up for at the end. Loved all the cameos and Easter eggs for casual fans and huge nerds like myself.

I never thought I would miss a composer as much as I missed John Williams while watching this movie. The score was fine but the Williams score is so intertwined with Star Wars in my head that was actually jarring at times.

I will be seeing it at least one more time in the theater to look for more stuff I missed and will pick up the Blu-ray when it comes out.

I'm not getting the blu-ray....initially.  I'll get it on Vudu but I'm not double dipping this one.  Until the 3D collector's edition is released I'm holding off.

I will be seeing it in the theater again as I didn't get to take my son today.  I will say the 10 year olds struggled with how it ended.  They were truly invested in the characters which is good, but, they were very upset at the ending.

As for John Williams, I couldn't agree more.  That shocked me enough to almost take me out of it as a Star Wars movie.  That's how ingrained his music is.

All the Rebels references if you want to take a look.

Also Dave Filoni has confirmed the page was for Hera.

Got to see this yesterday and enjoyed it. Thought the characters were all good and got you rooting for them. Not making out was the right outcome for sure. It was good to see they didn't take the fairy tale ending route. My only gripe is with the Darth Vader fight scene. He walks in and doesn't instantly just use the force to remove the disk from the guys hand? Or stick his hand through the opening and take it from the next guy that was just on the other side? The lead into episode 4 though was perfect.

I agree that the Vader scene could have been better or at least darker.  I did feel the hand of disney on that scene, not wanting to go too crazy with it. However, the scene was still awesome and was a huge part of the movie.

Did they use models instead of CGI? Some scenes looked really fake. Like when the two star destroyers collided. Maybe that was the intent to go back to the "original" look. Cool effect of Gov Tarkin. And Leia at the end was cool as well. Watched it Wednesday night on IMAX and just watched it today on a regular screen..

Just got back from seeing it again.  Yes, they definitely used models for the Star Destroyers which looked a little out of place in some scenes.  I caught most of the rebels references this time which was awesome.  I missed Chopper again cause that one's hard to spot but I got the rest of them.  Definitely a movie you need to see a couple times.  Those complaining about the Vader scene, um, you'll want to watch closely as it was nasty what he did.  It wasn't nearly as "Disney'd" as you might think.

The light Saber part was fine it's the fact he just didn't reach out and force take the disk out of the guys hand before sticking the light Sabre through him and the door lol.

There's a theory that says Vaders weird old man butler we saw in rogue is in fact snoke.
