I have zero experience with Linux, but I enjoy putting stuff into Mission Impossible mode, will self destruct in 3 seconds, so I started to attempt to create flashable files to change things. Basically the thought is, I like this camera, I like this launcher so I'm going to morph Eclipse with Abysm. Not to say there is anything wrong with those ROMs so please take no offense because they are both awesome developers with great products but those were the first two ROMs to come to my mind.

Start simple with programs I know will work. I was able to copy apk and lib files and works great. Found tutorials on how to structure zip and write update scripts, but the update binary is a mystery to me. Maybe I'm missing something or searching incorrectly. As I was writing this I thought maybe I should change the files in a current zip and keep the update script and update binary to test if it will work.

I'm not a dev, and definitely can't make the stuff our devs make, but I like to learn new things. Some do sodoku, NY Times crossword puzzles, I like to learn computer stuff to keep the brain fresh.

Long story short, probably too late, but where can I learn some of these things?

Thanks everyone!
