I recently picked up a RAZR m off craigslist for a pretty good deal. Phone was immaculate and I was stoked. I rooted and threw a ROM on last night, and all was good until this evening when I went to charge it. I noticed it kept giving me the popup saying that my charger had been disconnected, when it was sitting on still on the table. I wiggled the charge cable a bit, and it would work briefly. I had a call a few minutes ago, and when I went to plug back in to the charger I can no longer get it to charge. Since then, I've tried four or five different cables, three of them moto branded, and four different chargers in every combination. Has anyone else experienced an issue with this? I was also wondering if it would be covered under warranty still, seeing as how I purchased the phone off craigslist. I was hoping someone could shed a little insight. Thanks in advance!

i dont know if the warranty will cover since all the things warranties always is to original owner but i dont know... my phone i cargetit via USB-PC and sometimes when i move it it makes the sound of unplugged but it reconnects again. im wondering if thatis why you had such a good deal on the phone.. previous owner knew it was messing up..

It is a possibility the previous owner knew, but he had just switched carriers and said that was the reason he was selling the phone. It did work well for a day or two, however my wife said she noticed she had to wiggle the cable at first when she plugged it in. I paid 175.

I got off the phone with Verizon a bit ago, and they are shipping a replacement phone. She told me they would have to check to make sure the phone was sold within the past year to qualify, at which point i explained the phone wasn't released over a year ago. Lol. The warranty replacement is free, However, I'm still at the mercy of whichever warehouse handles phone returns. So if they deem the issue is related to abuse, I get slapped with a charge for $299. I was basically given the choice of a $99 insurance deductible, or a possibility of a $299 charge. I rolled the dice and went with warranty. Hopefully, I won't end up being charged. We'll see I guess.

try and see if if you can unroot so they dont say its cuz you rooted it... try to give them less options to open let them prove it... that it was abuse...

At the point I realized there was a problem there wasn't enough juice left in the battery to do much with it. I booted back into stock, uninstalled safe strap recovery, deleted the safe strap file, and used the unroot option on supersu, followed by a factory reset. At that point it had about two percent left on the battery. I don't know if that's good enough, or if there is any remaining root access, and I'm hesitant to risk plugging into the computer to try anything else. I had it plugged into the charger with the power off, and the battery animation popped up with a question mark in it. That's where it stands now. It seems pretty obvious its hardware related, so hopefully there won't be any song and dance about rooting being the culprit. Worst case scenario, I sell the 8X we recently picked up as well on craigslist and I recoup at least some of the money if i get hit with the $299 fee.
