Anyone have any idea why I can't install Nova Launcher? I have the APK. but every time I go to open it I get the error " There was a problem parsing the package."

I am running Eclipse 1.3

Thanks!

Well for starters Nova Launcher is for ICS and won't work on 2.3 :P

I figured it was only for ICS, can you suggest any others? I'm running ADW right now and I don't really care for it... I really liked the doc in Nova and the ability to edit the icons.

I used to switch back and forth between ADW Ex and Go Launcher. They both allow you to change icons, and they have the same dock options as Nova. Plus some. Like the ability to change the dock background. They have both been in the game for awhile and have a lot of customization options.

But, if you're not digging adw I'd try out Go Launcher. SPB Shell 3D is nifty, but it has a 15 Dollar price tag.

Check out ssLauncher, text based icons instead of image-pretty neat. But on second thought it may be for ICS too, not sure.

You might want t try Launcher 7 for a completely different experience. I have been using it for some time. I try different launchers and set-ups, but always come back to Launcher 7. I have attached a couple of screenshots with my setup. The clock is the SiMi clock widget which can act as a mini launcher. The bottom 3 tiles are folders that I use frequently.

I've been using Launcher Pro for a while now through a few different phones (Maxx, Fascinate, Incredible) and I really like it. The built in widgets and themes are very nice as are all the customizable elements. Didn't like ADW at all, and go launcher was nice but the SMS module got me a bunch of OZMAIL alerts so out went Go Launcher.

I would say that ADW USE to be the best. From what it was said it used hardware accelerators. However recent posts to the site and quotes make you question otherwise. Almost every theme is a paid DL with ADW now...and nowI have had constant lag issues, failure to rotate, and issues with overlapping items on my screen. I do use the paid EX Version.

I still say GO Launcher is the all around best. TONS of free themes and always has new updates. Not to mention it has by far the most customization options of all the launchers.
