So....
I have been a firm advocate of keeping hold to my unlimited data. My wife and I both have unlimited data, she probably averages 2 to 3 gb a month. I probly average 5 to 7, occasionally more. We have 2 acounts with 4 lines on one and 2 on the other. After chating with vzw we descover that if we combine them all and allocate 7 gb of data to each of ourselves plus abfew for the kids lines we will save 250 a month.
This is a big savings. And chances are we would not need more than thw 14gb between us. But there's just something about loving the unlimited.

I asked about combining thwm all except my line and keeping it unlimited, but they say no go. Its all or none.

Just wondering what your guys thoughts are about this. Is ig worth it?

I love the fact that I'm unlimited and can go buck wild with tethering if I needbtwo. But honestly ibthink I've only broke ten gb twice in all the years I have been with vzw.

Tha ks for your insight and input.

I dumped mine for the DNA. Not been a problem. I have heard it will be completely phasing out by years end anyway

My wife and I both have unlimited as well but if losing it will save us money and yet still give us enough data to cover our usage, I can't really say no. I think its a pretty nice deal you've been offered and I would do it if I was in your shoes.

I personally hated it. I used to have a 4GB cap on mine, but when I got my new DNA I got unlimited. I never use Wi-fi now, which is great since I have strong LTE coverage where I am (speeds much better than wifi). Having said that, I can't imagine ever having capped data again. However, I suppose if you never actually use it. I believe their data overage is like $10/GB.

I have read, and been told by a (few) people that yes, it is in the works, and eventually there will be no unlimited data. I don't know that it will be by this year's end, but I do see it coming .
And thanks for the advice guys. I hate to lose it but to fight the inevitable and save a nice chunk of change. I think I will take the plunge.

Thanks again for all the input.

Signed with the blood of my DNA

Like Mem' said, I dumped mine a long, LONG time ago. And It's NEVER been a problem. These folks that manage to collect, oh idk 35gb+ worth of mobile data must be tethering and downloading MAJOR stuff. Because I've been allotted 4gb/mo for nearly 2 years and NO MATTER HOW HARD I TRY!! I can NOT get even close. IDK what I 'm doing WRONG! I can't breach this number, EVER. It may seem crazy, but IDK what I can do?! I just dont know. I stream my SiriusXM radio daily, use Pandora, upload my photos and videos to my dropbox, download my UPDATES not OTA, but from the forums, use Pandora regularly. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I have TRIED to reach it...can't do it. Losing unlimited is honestly not the end of the world. It may seem nuts, but I've lived this way 2 years now and no matter what I do, haven't surpassed my data limit, EVER.

Agreed. Although I still have my unlimited, I've monitored my data usage for the last year and a half. I have NEVER went over 2GB. Just 2GB and I never even go over that.

Lol, and you're numbers are better than mine. I've gotten close to my 4gb limit maybe once or twice in the last two years, but that's it. My numbers are normally closer to Hicks, and like i've said that's with TRYING.

Okay so I'm running  Parallels too with my Data vs Unlimited Plan...Still Not sold on it....

My concerns is this:

Like Commission...

  • You run Parallels showing the results for a Commission Sales Person vs Salary...
  • Commission Income shows the Ideal time to change to Commissions showing the $$$$$'s is greater than a Salary Base
  • This forces most Individuals to Rollover and Enjoy the Benefits while the Monies are Great, but then the Rules Change...
  • District Changes, Commission Changes, Conditions, Lost of Business...ETC
  • Now, theirs No Going Back to Salary...So you Earn Less Pissing you off for what we call...

"Bait & Switch"
Another words, when Verzion reaches the Magic Target number for Rollovers to Data vs Unlimited...then the Rules Change...

Data Plan will Increase forcing you to chose a Fixed DAta Plan with X amount of GBs...

Now they Got-Cha...Bait & Switch...

But Verizon does have the Best Coverage by far and I would never change...On Unlimited for now we'll see what happens down the road...

Persuader nailed this. Also I Average ~4 gigs a day soooo that wouldn't cut it for me. I'm just counting down the days till I can leave Big Red for some company who at least acts like they care about their customers :) T-mobile is prime candidate right now, but they're probably just putting on a facade until they gain significant market share. I'll have to roll the dice come the Bionic's 2 year anniversary when I'm freed.

Also I'm on PACman ROM right now and the 3G throttling seems to have been removed. I'm getting 1500 to 3000 kbps instead of my regular 100-400 kbps :). I looked for the old "Throttle" folder and am unable to find. Is it possible this was actually where they housed their data speed throttling script?

I'm from the internet and so can you!

In the past month Verizon has called me twice trying to get me to get rid of my unlimited data. I have a 3 line family plan 1 line unlimited, one 10 GB and one 2 GB. Of course they said I will save money on my bill.....but I just dont wanna give it up yet. Like a few on here over the past year I barely go over 2-4 GB on my unlimited line. There are just some instances where I need unlimited data. Sometimes I go over family members houses that doesnt have internet and they use me for tethering. (They somehow got blu ray players that have wifi, and I have a Netflix account. Amazon Video and Vudu too. And hand held games that can use the internet)

I already had unlimited talk n text so when the share plans first came out I knew I would save money just for that. I will look over my bill.....I always wanted to try AT&T to see something....if I havent used that much data...I may give them a test drive.

Very curious whats gonna happen when VoLTE becomes a reality...does that have any effect on data use....

Worry about their Unlimited Plan when it happens mean time don't change...

Before choosing AT&T reevaluate...Network Coverage is okay at best...
They have more Drop Calls then their are Stars in the night skies...

Radio Signals suck...very weak...

I don't see how you guys do it. I'm already at 2.5 GB with 27 days to go for the month. I don't ever use WiFi though. I don't know how much that would change things.
