So if you go into Settings->sounds, there are no ring tones available? At all? Not even the default ones?

Use a file explorer (I prefer Root Explorer) and go into system/media/audio and see if you still have sound files in each folder. If they are there, check to make sure permissions are correct. If they are incorrect, fix them, rw-r-r. If there are no sounds, you should be able to find the files online and place them in their appropriate folders and give them the correct permissions.

Go into your system folder and copy the media folder from there to /sdcard. Then download and open up the ringtone maker app from the play store, hit the menu button, then refresh. Now you should be able to go to your system settings and all the ringtones should be there. Good luck
Nice job on the signature, jl90...thanks!

If the suggesstions above were not what you needed to resolve your issues, maybe we can get a mod to move this to the hd forum, i'll bet you'll get more help there.
