Was curious about something and would like to know if you guys know... If I format the internal/external (SD Card) storage of my XT912 and then run option #1 of Matt's utility will that mean that the whole phone got formatted and reinstalled with the JB operating system? Would it be like I never touched it out of the factory box or does the utility just install certain files over the exisiting files.

Correct

help I bricked my phone. I was on jelly bean and rooted. I was returning my phone and I want to unroot. Anyway I read that I could use Matt's utility 1.82 to do this. Well turns out that was wrong and now my phone is bricked. Can't get into AP Fast boot, keep getting the motorola logo and then screen goes black. Is there a utility to unbrick? or can someone please help me out? Thanks

You used the wrong utility. The correct one is above in post #137

To get to fastboot you must hold all 3 buttons for 10 seconds. When the screen flashes let go of them and immediately hold them again. Takes a bit to get the timing.

So I shamefully updated my phone without using Voodoo. Can anyone direct me to a link on how to rollback to the previous verison or let me know if this exploit will work with the latest update.

Edit: Used the JB exploit and it seems to have restored root, but I've also noticed it no longer pops up saying 'Xapp has been allowed root access' should I be concerned about this?

I don't know if there is anybody there but I have a question ...

My daughter did a factory reset on her xt912 and the phone can't start anymore. (it boots but when I choose language (English/spanish) it stay on message (this may take a few minutes))

I wanted to instal JB again and I was wondering if I could use this method to do it.

android version is : 98.72.16.xt912.verizon.en.us

Any idea ?

I don't know if anyone here still uses this phone. I still do... Try going to XDA Developers. There is still development going on there, and forums just for this phone. Hopefully someone there can help....
Disappointed and hurt. Not surprised.
