You are aware that this is for JB 98.72.16, which is the soak test that went out yesterday. If you are on the Christmas JB leak then I don't think it will work

Hi there I'm a nb. I have a Razr Maxx. I updated yesterday. It will boot to the M and then after a few seconds a blank screen appears. I have reflashed the rom says complete but still doesn't work. I can boot into recovery so I have tried different roms. can anyone please help...thanks

As stated above, you have to be on the new Kernel to use this. If you didn't change your Kernel, then it would explain what you are seeing. Look at the Dual Boot thread to see how to change your Kernel.

I had the leak kernel. i tried downloading the ota. Is there a new kernel in the ota by chance? Again I am new to this

Yes there is, the kernel was updated. See the dual boot thread to see how to update the kernel. He has updated the program with the new kernel.

So what has changed from the december leak? I'm guessing battery life is a bit better and it's just generally smoother but anything else ya'll know of?

su is having errors because i added koush's su to /system/xbin and forgot to remove the original /system/bin/su. so when koush's superuser looks for the su binary it's finding the incompatible one. will fix and update links soon...

No reason ??? Well... I don't know about that. I was(am) on the Christmas Leak and Deoxed Christmas Leak. I did not want to "re-do" the entire phone and used this to flash the new JB Deoxed file to a new ROM slot using SS 3.11 I then used the JB dual boot utility to flash the new kernel. Re-boot. Success. :-)

Then wanting to go back to the JB Christmas leak.... I edited the JB dual boot program swapping the boot.img files for 08 and 16 kernels.

I am now able to boot to either.... using the JB dual boot and flashing the 08 kernel for the Christmas leak. And flashing the 16 kernel for the new JB OTA.

(Worked out to be an easier way to update and also allowed me to keep the JB Christmas leak.)

i could have just ignored the question entirely since it's been asked and answered probably hundreds of times before.
