Is it worth going to JB?
Yup, much smoother performance, I took the Xmas eve leak and haven't looked back. To remove safestrap, simply open the app, uninstall recovery, then remove the app from the phone. All your backups are in the /safestrap/ folder which you can browse to using your favorite file explorer.

Fantastic, let us know if you hit any snags.
Just wanted to let you know that after running Matt's 1.8 utility, doing the root, restoring all of my apps/settings, I took the OTA. Made sure that OTA Rootkeeper was up to date. OTA installed and used OTA Rootkeeper to get root back.
Thank you to everyone at droidrzr.com for the great utilities for our phones!!!!

This will roll you back and allow you to flash the update, just follow the directions exactly.
NOTE: Make sure you have the JB file on your SD card BEFORE you run this.

Rootkeeper was unable to restore root :-(
I ran into the same thing. I then when into Superuser, made sure that I had the correct su, didn't, even though I checked before I started. Temp unroot and re-rooted. Everything is fine now.

So the first thing I should do is boot into stock, remove Safestrap recovery and uninstall the app or just remove Safestrap recovery?
Then using voodoo temp unroot and root 4 times leaving it rooted on the 4th.
Double check to be sure no apps are frozen...there shouldn't be as I only set up the barest of necessities when I installed .8
Put the phone aside and wait for it to download the OTA
Root with voodoo reinstall Safestrap 3.11 and have fun
I'm guessing that ROMs based on .8 will not be too happy with .16 unless I run Matt's new utility first correct?
Thanks

After reading the thread I need to walk through the procedures to take the OTA update. I am on .8 rooted with Safestrap 3.11. Currently running batakang in slot one as my daily driver and I use slot 2 to take a look at other ROMs.
So the first thing I should do is boot into stock, remove Safestrap recovery and uninstall the app or just remove Safestrap recovery?

That seems like a good plan. If you run into an issue with the install of the OTA you may need the 1.90 Utility to refresh everything.
Let us know how you make out
