I myself think that Google is moving way too fast with Android. They're not fixing main bugs in versions that have been out for two years and they're moving on to new builds like everything is perfect

What main bugs? Unless your talking about a Nexus device then most likely the bugs are because of the manufactures UI

If there guilty of anything its not making carriers and manufacturers stay current with the software...manufacturers are building new phones when there previous phone isn't even running right yet ...example ..( Motorola bionic )...Razr was out and bionic owners had bugs not fixed yet...

Our perspective is skewed. Each new dessert is like a whole new OS instead of a jump like 2.3.5 -> 2.3.6. They do need to pump out a new build if they want to fix bugs but they usually do it with a bunch of new features and other bugs bundle in. Why it is that Android manufacturers can't keep up is the real question here.

In my own opinion I think phones are getting pumped out waaaaaay too fast. I buy my Razr and next thing ya know we have maxx's and developer phones(unlocked BL's). Slow it down and focus on the phone you just put out before releasing how many phones that next quarter. My 2 cents...

That's my point. Most bugs are on non nexus devices, which is caused by the manufactures skin and not the base that they started from. Nexus devices do have bugs but they are normally pretty quick to fix them. With the RAZR most bugs are a side effect of Motorola's Blur skin. I had a thunderbolt on Gingerbread and the bugs from that are different than the Bionic and RAZR bugs because they are not android bugs, but bugs specific to the manufacture.

In this context - it sort of parallels the Mac vs. Windows argument. It will always be easier to minimize bugs with Apple's method of locking down hardware vendors and the OS. I do think that Google could do more to enforce vendor updates. Motorola and/or Verizon should be penalized for allowing flying cars before our Razrs have Jellybean.

Ah alright. Must have misread. I thought you were saying the Nexus had bugs because of its Samsung overlay and all. Haha! I was like wait a minute... that's not right... :P

Before anyone should make a comment on this remember Google is a business
Therefore the are driven by money, who here would actually buy Froyo for their Razr?
Would you want google to go back and spend money on Froyo....or develop ICS for the razr?

Why would google spend more money on something that no body wants?

Also the reason why pones are getting pushed out fast is because of people like us. Think how many people on this forum has paid for a Razr Maxx when they already have a razr....and add to that think how many people will be buying the razr dev edition when it comes out in the US. EVERYONE always wants the next big thing!
( this also counts for buying OEM parts to make the razr look like a maxx)

Agreed. Us consumers are showing that we want the next big thing by buying immediately. To be honest if we have anyone to blame its us.

As far as I know Google develops ICS for Android ....Motorola then takes the source and development and does the development for the RAZR....IMO the overlays by the carriers and manufacturers are the issue ...In order foe Motorola to release ICS for the RAZR they have to make it work with there overlay ....all the extras like web top / HDMI and such..I think its these extras are part of what's taking so long ....this has nothing to do with Google ...

Motorola, along with other OEMs, have said that they plan to release fewer phones this year. Lets hope this holds true. I think releasing the RAZR, RAZR Maxx, and all the colors is perfectly fine, its just that they should all be released at the same time.
