The last part of the second flash in HoG showed up sometime while I was playing with fastboot commands:

And in setting up Pie, the first notification to show up is for the Android ßeta program lol!

 

I might still use HoG and flash the OTA for $#!+s and Giggles...

 

Or, seeing as it is 2 AM (Dafuq am I thinking!?!) I might just go to bed and start fresh in the AM.....

You didn't need to do all that. I knew what skip secondary does cause I added it. Lol I haven't gotten to the slot control yet. It's what I was going to work on today.

And glad to know you're looking into dual-slot flashing - that will make the app more robust.

It does exactly what the name suggests. It skips flashing the second slot. I did this way back in hon days because I didn't want to blast someone's second slot if they were using it as a backup /safety net. So I add that to the flash command to prevent it from flashing both slots.

I've been giving slot support some thought and have a way I want to try and see how it works.

Only Nexus device I had was my Shamu, so I did not remember that other Nexus devices had multiple slots.  Makes sense now.

Kaos just pointed out to me the new beta images are up for Q.  This presents a....small situation for the HoG.  And I'm not going to do anything to "fix" it as I tend to not see it as an issue.  Google removes the old images from the beta pages.  What this means is that even if you have the old beta downloaded, it WON'T show up in HoG.  It'll only ever show the latest beta.  I personally think this is how it should be, google obviously agrees with me, and that's how beta support in HoG is simply going to work.  I don't have the metadata for the old images anyway, so, they'd never get enumerated for the UI.  I just wanted you to be aware that this is how it works and isn't going to get changed to support previous beta images.

System update available - so I got everything ready, and then enabled the native screen recorder to record the process.

 

System update is paused - it will automatically resume when your phone is idle....

Updating now via OTA.  If I get to a point where Magisk is working for it again, I may HoGwash this Taimen and manually install the Q DP2.
 
I really want to stay on getting the OTAs, though, as that is part of the whole process in the first place.

Honestly, there is so much that I changed, and whatnot, I might as well HoGwash my Taimen this weekend and manually install DP2 directly.

 

I'll probably decide later today or tomorrow.

I'm still deciding if I will have the time to do this as setting up my phone from scratch takes entirely too $%#^$#@%^ long, and I kinda need to have it working as intended since the house is now listed.

 

I am also (somewhat) debating going back to Pie so I don't have any missed calls / texts / any other sort of "Ooops" events.  This realtor is very aggressive, but also extremely reasonable, but I still don't want anything to happen to make me look bad at all.

 

Going to contemplate all this over the weekend - already have another showing scheduled tomorrow morning, and an Open House on Sunday....

Uh, there is a patch for Q DP2 (still DP 2, minor version incremented by 2) out.  Both Full system image as well as OTA.  And though it is a patch, the OTA was over 1.2 GB, so it is independent, not needing the previous DP 1 installed to be applied (I think I was going for the word cumulative patch, though that just looks wrong when written there).
