That's interesting.  We'll maybe have to play with that at some point.  I'm still debating the whole forcing a folder order on people thing.  I've added it to the todo list to architect that a bit.

I might have bigger problems.

Using the latest TWRP for Shamu, it is having a massive amount of problem trying to format data.  Tried it numerous ways from TWRP, doesn't like it.

Let me see if there is something out there about that, or maybe grab the next to last TWRP and try....

What the?  The flash wouldn't cause that issue.

Since the utility DLs the images anyway (for those of us not advanced enough to already have them around / know what we're doing), a forced folder seems to me to be almost mandatory.

That was what, probably the third biggest problem you encountered with the previous Houses?

Nope - I suspect one of 3 things.

1)  The jiggling of the cable while flashing b0rked something.

2)  TWRP latest version is buggy.

3)  The device is just old?  I mean, I didn't wipe the first time I tried to flash BlissROM, and it bootlooped.  I then loaded TWRP, and wiped, and I do remember it giving me a few errors here and there during the Advanced Wipe, but BlissROM then loaded perfectly fine and I was able to take screenshots and save them, so I know /data was fine then.

Yea.  But then that presents its own challenges.  I'll see what I can do about that.  It's lower priority on the list at the moment.  Big ticket items still left to work on.

Yea, the flash memory in these things isn't infinite.  That sucks.

Ahh, known - after formatting /data, it fails to mount.

Those error messages were, apparently, normal.

I just manually flashed to see if it makes a difference, using flash-all.

If it boots, I'm going back to HoG and trying again.

Not the flash.  I'm at the initial setup screen for Android 7.1.1 now.

So, wipe in TWRP again, then use HoG 0.0.0.0.1.

Actually, no, a better test will be the following:

  1. Wipe
  2. Install BlissROM
  3. boot, go through initial setup.
  4. Wipe
  5. use HoG to back to stock.

As, technically, this is what I tried to do before, but I did not wipe, like I should have....

Why, yes.  Yes, I did.

And I quite literally laughed out loud.

(And the first thing that came to my mind as a response was what Angelina Jolie's character Mrs. Smith says in response to Brad Pitt's character Mr. Smith when he calls her that exact phrase....)

Actually, step 00: Put the Shamu on the charger, because the battery is already <50%.

So, I'll be testing again in about 30 minutes or so.  Lol!

Yea that'll be a good test.  I want to make sure the change I made to the latest version doesn't break anything.  I also removed the SHA256 popup.

That's fine I'll be around for a bit.  I might work on the OTA side of things before I go to bed.
