The new AOKP roms are from a dev team called team kang and they are certainly not taking others work. It simply refers to unofficial modified work.

Just wanted to add so some moons don't get confused. While the term kang can be a negative as you pointed out where someone essentially uses others work with no credit, it is not always the case.

To be fair, most of the larger developers give fair credit for their kangs anyways. DHacker/DT are both great examples with how they plainly call the ICS ROMS CM9 or AOKP based.

ODEX stands for Optimized DEX
DEX stands for Dalvik Executable
Code compiled with ODEX consists of multiple files working together as a single program
De-ODEX is simply 'ODEX got removed', the same as debloating is to bloating. The De-ODEX process is done to make modifying code much more manageable.
With how you have it laid it, it might make more sense to have VZW = Verizon Wireless

Where I'm from, ETA means Estimated Time of Arrival.
Which is why Rule #1 is "Never ask for ETAs."
