I Have a RAZR MAXX (With Verizon) and was traveling to Spain and was trying to find the cheapest way to use my phone, so i set up a Google number put 10 dollars in my Google Talk Account (Just In-case). Bought The app GrooVe IP , And bought a sim card from Holiday Phone (39.99 + 2 Refills = 60 $) which gave me 1.8gb of data on the ortel network in Madrid,Spain. Which they will need a copy of your passport to order the sim card (Government regulation). So Then I went into my Google Voice settings, then phones And put check to forward calls to Google Chat and unchecked my cell number. So Right Before I got on the plane i forward my number to my Google voice number (*72 xxx-xxx-xxxx) With The X Being your Google number. turned off my phone inserted my other sim from holiday phone. When i arrived in Madrid i turned on my phone follow the instructions on the paper (make sure u setup the VPN) and now i had data. clicked on GrooVe IP Called home. no charge. you can text from Google talk app. after a day or so i turned off data turned off my phone put in my Verizon sim powered on got my text messages .05 receive (make sure u have global on your account) turn the phone off put in my ortel sim turned on phone turned on my data and text from my Google Talk. plus i had my Goolge maps to find all the things i wanted to see. so if you want to travel and don't want to pay $1.27 min and .50 send text. That's the way to go.. Just Figured i would right this cause i couldn't find anything out there about how this would work.. I Hope This Helps Someone...
