Hi all, first post here. I've done some searching and I apologize if I this is a repost or a silly question, but here goes:

I am currently rooted on 4.1.2 JB. I was rooted on 4.0.4 ICS and ran the OTA update, which worked fine, but I was only half-rooted, so I unrooted and rerooted. I forget which tool I used but I can look tonight (I'm at work at the moment). Full root with SuperSU and everything was working just dandy.

This morning, I was dorking around with Font Installer and after a reboot, it got caught on the "Eye" boot screen and wouldn't move. I did the <power+volume up+volume="" down="">, held until the screen went blank, released and repeated to get to the bootloader screen. I went to recovery and cleared the cache partition several times, then rebooted. Same thing happened, so I repeated the process and did a data wipe/factory reset twice, then rebooted. Again, it got caught on the eye. I reset, then went into AP Fastboot and turned the phone off from there. It stayed off so I plugged it into the wall and it charged like normal (showed the blue battery). The AP Fastboot screen looks like this:

AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)
xxxx <--don't remember the numbers here, but they were normal (I was an idiot and left my phone at home)
To return to normal mode - first press power key to power down
Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0

Battery OK
OK to program
Transfer Mode:
USB Connected <--I had it plugged up to my computer at the time

To my knowledge, this is a completely normal AP Fastboot screen, so no issues there.

I have the update.zip on my SD card for the 4.0.4 OTA update, but that clearly won't work. My thinking is that I could download the Droid Razr Utility for JB (MattLGroff) as well as the OTA JB update file, then flash it manually with a full data wipe. However, I know that this update is designed for phones coming from 4.0.4 ICS as the update is referred to as 6.16.211... (coming from that version). Will I still be able to flash the OTA update, even though I am already running 98.72.16?

I saw on another site that I could instead flash a custom ROM (which I have zero experience with), or I could do this:

I have two solutions for u:
1. flash your phone with any rom you want.
2. find a file named "DroidSansFallback.ttf" on another phone(/system/font)
or rename a correct ttf file to DroidSansFallback.ttf.
download the attachment, use your file replace the
system/font/DroidSansFallback.ttf in the zip file.
rename the zip file to update.zip
reboot to recovery to install teh update.zip.
(or you can use a recovery tools to install it)

This was from XDA and the exact same thing happened to the user (rebooted with Font Installer and bricked). In the post from above, he attached the DroidSansFallback.ttf file, which I downloaded. However, I am unsure on what he means to replace the system/font/DroidSansFallback.ttf in the zip file. The OP was running 2.3.5 GB and the links posted by a previous user took him to some fastboot files for the GB firmware. But I'm still not sure what meant by replacing the system/font/DroidSansFallback.ttf in the zip file.

If I'm not able to use the OTA JB update file to reflash JB, is there a JB fastboot file that I should use instead? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!</power+volume>

You should be able to use Matts JB Utility to fix yourself, just follow the instructions.

Memnoch beat me to it....

Outstanding, thanks guys. I am assuming that Matt's uility tool already has the OTA update file included, so I don't need to download the update file elsewhere?

Correct, Matts utility has everything you need.

Downloaded the utility, installed all included drivers, ran AP Fastboot with option 1 for 4.1.2 reflash and data wipe, then option 3 for full root. Absolutely no hiccups through any of it. Fantastic utility. Thanks again.
