I just recently purchased a used XT926 Dev edition and wanted to get the correct run-down on how to make sure I correctly installed TWRP and root access.

The BL is already unlocked, but the OS is completely stock as is the recovery. Can someone make sure I am doing this list correctly?

1) ADB reboot bootloader
2) fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img
3) fastboot reboot-bootloader
4) Choose recovery in bootloader
5) Rename stock recovery file?
6) Flash a superuser zip? (which one? something specific?)
7) Boot back to OS, check for root

Also, is the latest recovery here for TWRP 2.4.3.0?

Anyone?

Also, is this an acceptable SuperSU file? 1.25?

That's the SU file I used. Also I didn't rename any recovery file.
TWRP 2.4.3 is what I have installed.

Are you on Jelly Bean already?

I was just shortening the TWRP name.

The phone is on 4.1.1 right now. It hasn't taken the OTA.

Why? Make sure you have 4.1.1 root then do rootkeeper

According to others, you can't fastboot if you take 4.1.2 so I'm staying on Inflikted ROM.

FYI a Dev edition device should be able to fastboot to any file UNLIKE the consumer version that can not fastboot backwards.

Right, that's what I figured, but can anyone confirm that?

I've already asked a couple of ppl and they said it will be fine on Dev editions. If i were motivated to wipe out my whole device again this wk I'd test it but that isn't happening atm......lol. Personally I just see no point in doing so. Why would anyone ever want go backwards on a Dev edition. Doens't make much sense to me as no matter what we can ALWAYS root our devices and not have to worry about going backwards to get root. Just my .02 tho as i dont worry about this type of stuff i guess.

Alright, got it done.

Also, just so we're clear, if I take the 4.1.2 update I cannot load any of the 4.1.1 ROMs, right?

Hey guys, need some help. I flashed a ROM and now it won't get by the logo screen. Even after power-off, center-press volume, it still sticks on the logo screen.

I can't even get it to boot to recovery. Any help? This is unlocked BL, but it's acting weird.

I updated my Dev Edition to the 4.1.2 and can't go back to 4.1.1 so doesn't work on Dev Edition either.
