Many of you know me by now, in fact I have probably helped some of you and no doubt you have helped me. I have decided that at this point I will no longer consider DR my internet home. After the countless hours I have put in the chat room and forums helping people, not to mention helping on GT, I realized that there is a select handful of people who actually help existing and new members with their issues, and very few, and I mean VERY few of them are admin, Now I know they do a lot on the site...but there should at least be some sort of continuity, everyone on this site should be working to help people. So for my own reasons, which I will not discuss, I am going to take a break, maybe a permanent one, I don't know, this site used to take pride in the fact that it wasn't like the "other" sites, which means no backbiting, no arguing, no BS...

Sorry to see you go man... I hope there is more to the story other than Admins not being visible. To be honest the Admins do a ton behind the scene that is usually not visible to the average user. Usually it falls on us mods to help and be visible. We appreciate all the help you and other regular users give as us Mods cannot get to everyone (although we try).

Feel free to pm me if you need to talk or if there is anything I can do to change your mind.

PS... we do still take pride in "not being like other forums" unfortunately we cannot control every random person and personality so things have to be dealt with. We do our best to reach a fair solution but that is not always possible.

I think that there has been several things that have happened that has just got me frustrated, and I know the ADMINS work hard on this site, and I do KNOW that this site is not like the others. But in some ways it is and there is no way around that, because people are people. I chose not air the things that have me frustrated in here, or any other forum that might be readable. Let me start by saying thank you for all you've done and all those you've helped, you really are an asset to this site and bring a lot to the table. I also understand your frustration and respect how you feel, totally.

This site, and life, is about giving without the expectation of getting something in return. When I started writing articles, it wasn't so I could have a title or be able to moderate. It was simply because I'm passionate about phones and modding/rooting and felt that i could further contribute. I understand that you feel that you've given so much and gotten nothing in return. For that I am truly sorry that you feel unappreciated.

The moderators on this site are charged with more than just helping people. We rely on our users to help also and most of them do, without expecting anyhting more than a "Thanks for your help" in return. The staff here have to maintain, reorganize and mediate every thread on the site. You know this, you used to be a mod. So, though I see where you're coming from, I don't agree with the "and very few, and I mean VERY few are Admins [Mods]". The Admins job is handling everything behind the scenes and that's why we have SMods and Mods, we are the frontline in charge of helping where we can and maintaining the organization of the forums. Rarely do Admins jump into the threads, simply because they are just too busy handling the behind the scenes maintenance

It seems that you are simply upset because you havent gotten a title again, even though you feel like you're helping more people, but in fact, that's the very essence of this community, helping without expecting something in return.

I'm done now and I'm truly sorry that you don't feel as appreciated as you truly are.

I'm sorry, but these silly threads that pop up about "I'm leaving becase of xzy" are exactly the drama that we don't need. If a member doesn't want to be a member anymore, then don't come back. What is the purpose of announcing it to everyone? If you have an issue with someone, the right thing to do would be to privately contact them and voice your concern. The ENTIRE community doesn't need to know you don't like us and that you're going to punish them for it.
