Oh, in that case don't worry about it. I'm currently running CM10.1, and the simple build.prop edit works here. But if I switch to a ROM that can't do that you'll be the first to know! haha Thanks a lot anyway.

Sounds good man , hit me up anytime I don't mind helping at all.

I'm still interested in getting this on the stock ROM. Here's my stock, untouched framework-res.apk:

Are you still wanting to hide the navigation bar? if so hit me up I got a mix for it. For some reason that trick that BigDaddyHicks tried, use to work on other devices but it has never worked for me on the HD.

Hello. I've also been trying to get this mod to work without much success. Here is my res file on

from my razr hd maxx on 4.1.2 rooted. Thanks a ton!

I've been looking around on other forums and it seems that for other phones, this has been achieved by a modded system.ui file. Would something like this be possible for the Razr HD?

It's been achieved for the Razr M, so I assume you would use the same method for the Razr HD. Just decompile framework-res.apk and change those lines :) I don't know how to do that myself, though.

Gahhh, I give up. I tried learning about decompiling and all that stuff. I got java and installed my framework, decompiled framework-res.apk, changed the one value, and when I went to recompile it, I got this:

I have no idea what to do now. I would really like to know what I did wrong so I can learn to do it myself, but I tried a couple more times and kept failing. So I would really appreciate it if you would either tell me what I did wrong and how to fix it, or just do it for me.

if you think it's a lost cause or not worth the effort to teach me to fish.

which version of apktool are you using? try the latest one found here:

So I tried following tutorials on running APKtool and couldn't even get the thing to start. I don't know if the invitation to PantherHeel93 extends beyond him, but I can post a link to my framework file. I used a .zip mod made for another ROM and it did make the nav bar disappear, but in the process I think it messed up the menu button, i.e. as soon as I would hit the menu button, it would open and then immediately close, unless I hit the button around five times.

YES....that would be much appreciated! I would love to figure it out myself and learn some Android development in the process, but I don't have the time as school is finishing up now. Maybe over the summer...but for now, yes, that would be very kind of you :D

Is that a flashable .zip? Or do I just need the new framework-res.apk that's inside? I assumed that just swapping out the framework-res.apk and rebooting/wiping cache would do the trick.

Thank you! Everything works, except the action overflow button can be wonky at times.

By the way, I'm using GMD Gesture Control to navigate. Swipe up from the bottom  left/center/right triggers the back/home/recent buttons, respectively.

Now to return to stock...I can just replace the original framework-res.apk, yes?

EDIT: Disabling HW overlays solved the action overflow problem. Yay!

I flashed the framework zooyork posted and it works fine. Only issue is that holding power button restarts the phone but that's probably because I flashed the bigdx theme with reboot menu. Thanks
