I read a very disturbing theory this morning. I'm not in the "Luke shows up" camp. But let's say for argument's sake that it is Luke that shows up this week. And he takes Grogu to be trained. This would mean that Ben Solo is the one that kills him when he kills all of Luke's students at the new Jedi academy. And that is why we don't see him in Force Awakens. OY!
The other theory I saw was that Din Jarrin will become a Mandalorian Jedi next season and be trained by Ahsoka. LOL um, yea, ok. Maybe.
And finally, there's a theory about who that comms officer is aboard Moff Gideon's ship. cough sabine cough...

It actually doesn't. We don't really know anything about Moff Gideon. I have my doubts about him being the one that rescued Grogu for sure. However, once Grogu got separated from whoever rescued him, there's no reason to think Gideon couldn't have found him and done some crazy s*** to him during that time.

I mean I suppose anything is possible but don't think Gideon was the one who rescued him. If he grabbed him up and experimented on him I would think Grogu would recognize him and be pretty pissed when he saw him again in his ship.

Don't forget Ahsoka said his memory after the rescue was pretty fuzzy. It could be blocked because of the bad things that happened to him. You do realize the stuff he was doing to the storm troopers, while hilarious, was the dark side of the force....right?
