i'm going to blow off some steam so bear with me. i get so tired and pissed when i read
" my data keeps dropping, please fix"
" i used safety strap 1.06 when the op said use 1.09 know i boot loop"
" why wont this theme work with my stock rom"
"why doesn't flash work"
"why do'nt you tube work"
i don't want to sound like the asses on XDA but dang people just do some reading and all will be good, hell i just a dumb country plow boy and if i can do anybody can. and pissing and moaning about the developers doing bad work will not fly with me. all the ICS ports will not work perfectly until they get an ICS kernel, plain and simple, but they have done a damn good job with what they have had to work with, so give them some love, hell hit the thanks button once in awhile, it wont hurt i promise. these guys pour their heart and sole into these roms and dont ask for anything in return. so now i am done, just read the op and most all your problems will be cured or you will know why they wont......also

thank you all of our developers and themers for your hard work
ok im done for now please drive through

Hit the like button....and to my surprise it didnt hurt! :)

But I definitively feel the same way sometimes, I guess the thing that gets me the most is when the answer to someone's problem is 2 post up.

and thats why we take the time to teadch them to update teach them the proper method and dont spoon feed :D

everyone learns at a different pace
and some need to make the mistakes and be told why it didnt work in the first place a few times before they understand it

Honestly... read, research, and repeat! Not to hard of a concept to follow. Although I've encountered more than my share of people that what everything to be spoon fed to them (wtf?).

^ Agreed ... too many are used to "mommy" wiping for them, "mommy" fixing their problems, likely "mommy" paying their phone bill ... so they want ya'll to do the same. OP says to wipe or don't gripe. OP says you need to install gapps. Nah, they'll just do as they please, then clutter up threads well knowing that folks will "help" them out of their unfortunate self-created "problem" (otherwise known as "enabling bad habits"). And woe if a dev dares to ask 99 cents for an app ... that they update and provide user support.

When I first got involved in Android, shortly after the original Droid came out, devs/themers got more support, appreciation and donations from users. But within the past year, I've seen multiple devs/themers either thrown in the towel and walk away or rant about how users were becoming more demanding, less respectful of their time, and donations were few and far between. The below retweet I saw a few minutes ago reflects the trend....

"We have had 16,000+ downloads of #Gummy in 48 hours! Which means that everyone has donated $0.00375 per person, not even a penny each?"

Education isn't going to change the "gimme" mind-set. A swift kick in the azz, take away their Android phone, give them an iXhone with the ringtone permanently set to "Boo hoo hoo" ... and make them pay the monthly bill themselves.

this isnt exactly the attitude i like seeing on this forum though.. if they want that kind of response then they go to xda.. I sit in chat a lot and provide a ton of support and a lot of the people i have helped have moved on and helped others.. but they started out with HELP HELP i broke meh phone.. i changed that into i respect the time you hvae given.. i dont ask for donations i dont expect people to care..

as for the devs and donations yeah thats tough.. i personally dont have the cash flow to donate at all. i hvae about 60 some peeps i BADLY desire to be able to donate too. the economy sucks right now. im sitting here helping as much as i can as a way to donate to this site.. i also sit here and apply to about 40 jobs a day,,. but the attitude has to change somewhere.. its not going to be from these first timers.. i can tel you that now.. not without someone like a dev or a mod or tech support telling them how and WHY things work and dont work. or what kind of work went into it.. how many hours they went before grabbing a snack.. please take all that into consideration before you start ranting..

your taking my point wrong. the point is, when i read a post saying "this is a junk rom" and then read well i didnt wipe everything i didnt think i needed to" where it says to in big freaking red letters in the OP. then that really grinds my gears.

I definitely agree. Android is also way harder to get help for, especially on motorola devices. You can't google ROMs for razr-you don't always get a good link. Its even worse for Android terms, like what USB Host is, no noob is gonna know what any of that means. Some people with no experience need it really dumbed down. (me included when I began)
