I haven't been able to find a tear down of the max HD does anyone know how difficult it would be to replace the micro USB port?

I don't have a Maxx HD but I can tell you it will be extremely hard. There will be a lot of soldering in very very tiny places.

Ya I don't have the hands of a heart surgeon either it seems to work OK , I think the outer housing wiggles around a bit more than I like, I can just imagine how long it would take to send it in.

Yeah you're looking at some time. If there was a teardown video I'm sure you could find a way to jerry-rig it somehow but I tried looking myself and couldn't find one either.

As with any port you go in an out of too much it gets worn out.
