To date, this is not going to happen. Configure Google Voice and you're good to go. An excellent alternative.

Google Voice is free, easy to setup, and not dependent on carrier (if you ever change, Google Voice can go with you). I personally think Verizon's Visual Voicemail is pointless with an Android device. Also, if/when we get unlocked bootloaders, it is safe to expect that the community will start drifting away from basing ROMs on pure Verizon kernels, which in turn means Verizon services become less and less useful to the modder.

What setup steps have you done?
1) Get an account if you don't have one
2) Install Google Voice app
3) Set Google Voice as default voicemail on phone (will say you need to do manual setup)
4) Enter all 3 forwarding codes (like dialing a phone call)
I can find the forwarding codes for you if you are having a hard time
Edit>
Here are the activation codes, borrowed from this thread
One number is for missed calls, one for ignored calls, and the third for line busy I believe, but I can't remember in which order.

Not entirely sure I understand the question correctly, but if you want visual voicemail on ICS it's there and works fine.
I have it on mine right now using the ICS build from moto.
When it installs it replaces the voicemail link on the home screen with the standard dial-in VM link.
The VVM link is under apps.
Again, I apologize if I'm missing the point of the question.
EDIT: Didn't see the date, sorry. This section of the forum must not be all that active, this post was only like 6 down from the top.

Google Voice ftw!! Beats the shiznit outta visual voicemail. Web access, transcription, ability to retrieve deleted messages... the list is quite long on the things that GV does buy VVM doesn't.
