I'll ask the next obvious question...how does one fix such an issue should it occur on their phone (not saying it has on mine)?

Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX HD

You would need to use the utility to fastboot back to stock.

Im new to this rooting stuff. sorry in advance guys & girls.

im trying to do this on a mac running 10.7.5 - my droid razr maxx hd on 4.1.2

im not good at the computer language like you guys are. I think im doing this correctly as far as opening up a terminal window & typing in the command - no luck. i tried dragging the run.sh onto the terminal window. either way it says: command not found

what am i missing or doing wrong?

is there any easy instructions or a link to a video for us non rooting pro's?

Does that eliminate bootloader warning?

Okay let's check some stuff off... Phone in MTP mode? Using USB cable that came with your phone. Try a different USB port? Also is your phone booted into the OS and not fastboot when doing this? All else fails you can use the utility to fastboot back to fresh stock and go from there.

- yes phone was in MTP mode

- yes i used the usb cable that came w/ the phone.

- yes i did try another usb port

- it was booted normally.

- so if all this is correct, you are saying for me to wipe the phone & start all over? I really don't want to do that.

my head is spinning from ready so many pages on this & another forum site. i have read other people have trouble & found a way to fix it & get rooted, but i haven't seen anyone w/ the same problem as mine.

- i also cleared the cache before doing this for the 19th time.

i really don't know what else to do.

No i think that's the problem.

i spent so much time the other night downloading the SDK stuff & i still got the same results - nothing.

I think i have to buy a windows laptop just to do this.

This sux.

You can downgrade in order to root but not to unlock.
