1 - Sorry for all the n00b questions, guess I am being overly cautious. I have sucessfully rooted, unlocked and flashed TWRP. I backed up apps and system with Tit. BU, which went to the internal storage. Do I need to have these on my external SD card before wiping and flashing via TWRP (I'm guessing YES) and would it be OK to just move them via my computer, or do I need to delete and change the backup dir in TitBU (It doesn't look like I can change it now). Do I need any other apps installed to flash a ROM and remove all the bloatware?

2 - When I boot into TWRP, I select mount system, then flash the ROM?

Thanks for your time.

I moved the Titanium BU folder from internal to my SD card, opened TitBU and detected and it found it. So I think I have them where they need to be?

You really only want to restore apps from TiBU, and definitely nothing from system apps. I really only backup apps that I don't want to lose my data on... IE Drag Racing or Angry Birds lol. Depending on the ROM you choose to flash, yes, you will need to manually mount the system inside of TWRP as well as Advanced Restore a boot img. ROMs that were built for Safestrap do not contain kernels, so keep that in mind.

Haven't ran that one yet... it has a separate boot img so make sure you flash that as well or you'll just be looking at a black screen!

I you like stock based ROMs You'll love the feel of DST. It's quicker and smoother than stock without all the bloat.

I think something is wrong with my TWRP flash. When I bring it up, I don't have touch screen, only text to select, and no way to select multiple apps. any ideas?

Thanks again

Doesn't sound like twrp. Maybe cwm or stock Motorola recovery.

Ok... inside of TWRP... you need to wipe the following... Cache, Dalvik Cache, System and Data. Once you've done that, flash CM 10.1 and the GApps package, reboot and you should be good to go. Your current bootloop is because you flashed AOSP over Stock, those aren't compatible.

It takes time to pick it up. I have to re-learn as well after being away from HTC and Nexus for awhile. You'll get it, just be patient.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

He put the boot IMG there just to make life easier when switching Roms. Not really needed unless playing with cm ROM.

Most Stock ROMs will have GApps included... Generally speaking AOSP based ROMs like CM or AOKP will have a separate GApps package.
