Fastboot Low Battery, No Factory Cable Needed

Hey everyone! I came across a thread once that suggested a way to get around the whole "battery low cannot program" thing, WITHOUT a factory cable. Here's step by step instructions on how to do it:
1. Unplug any chargers or USB cable you have plugged in.
2. From fastboot, press and hold the power button and volume down.
3. Once you see the screen flicker, release those buttons and quickly press and hold all three side buttons (power, vol up, vol down)
4. Now you should be at the bootloader screen, use volume down to scroll to "Recovery" and press volume up to select it.
5. Press and release both volume buttons at the same time. Now you should be at the stock Recovery.
6. Scroll down to "factory reset" and press the power button to select it.
7. Wait for the data wipe/factory reset to finish.
8. Once finished, press and hold vol down and power button again and once again, when you see the screen flicker, release those and press and hold all three side buttons again.
9. On the bootloader menu, scroll down to "BP SBF Flash" and press vol up to select it.
10. Plug in your WALL CHARGER, not USB.
11. Wait a couple seconds, press and hold the power button for about 3 seconds then release.
12. After a few seconds, your phone should turn off and try to boot up, then go right into the "powered down charging" mode.
VIOLA!!! Wait for a full charge, then begin the fastboot process again to get back to stock.

Since I have a factory cable and can risk it, I will test this theory... once my battery is pretty low lol
Cool! You can click "like this" when it works haha.

Assume "the button" on step 2 was intended to mean "the power button"??
These instructions are much clearer than others I've seen so gonna bookmark this page.

Luckily I was able to test this theory. I was in the middle of flashing to 6.12.173 and my battery was too low.
Unfortunately I could not get this to work =(
Yeah I should have stated that it may take a few tries before it actually works.

Yes sorry I did mean the power button. Fixing it now.

When I was flashing 173 to prep for ics, I had a computer crash, and am getting something similar- (By the time the computer was back up, power is too low to flash).
The text is
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system) Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system status 0x004E)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system)

After several tries I finally made my self a factory cable and managed to boot.
