Hello, I would like the friends to help rooting the brand new motorola razr D3, which appeared first in Brazil (where I am from) and is a great device. It uses Mediatek MTK6577 and android version is 4.1.2. Any help is welcome.

Is Bootloader unlockable via Motorola Website?

And if you could grab me a System Pull that would also help.

'adb pull system'

I have checked the morotola website and D3 is not among the models that can be bootloader unlocked in the site.

That's a shame. Does the phone support fastboot commands like 'fastboot oem get_unlock_data' or is there no fastboot mode at all?

(this would be easier over Google Talk. You can add me at mattlgroff (at) gmail.com )

I don't know if I did it right:

adb shell
shell@android:/ $ fastboot oem get_unlock_data
fastboot oem get_unlock_data
/system/bin/sh: fastboot: not found
127|shell@android:/ $

Not looking good right now. Basically gotta wait for a new mediatek based exploit.

Partitions are not familiar and fastboot mode is non-existant.

So, Matt and David(DHacker29) tried everything they could, but with no success.

I dont know if they will try something else, since they didnt contact me and i dont want to be intrusive, always asking them to try to root the device.

I was sad with D3 over the desk and not using it because of no-root when I googled and found CARBON, a non-root program that can transfer apps with data and configs. Worked great! I can use the D3 now!

Carbon is used for Backups, you werent using your D3 because you didnt had a way to backup your apps?
