My screen is screwing up, ghost typing and reading random presses on a perfectly clean screen. Verizon is replacing it under warranty. I recently upgraded to the ota jellybean and lost root. I tried backing up with ota root keeper but failed to restore in jellybean. What I want to know is: will Verizon do anything about my phone being previously rooted, will they even know for sure it was?

I doubt it would be an issue.

That's what I was thinking. It's on the way via FedEx overnight, so I'll be sending mine back in tomorrow. Here's to hoping j don't have a gigantic bill in a few months.

Did they tell you what phone they are sending you in return?

Another bionic. Wanted a RAZR but couldn't get it out of them, sadly.

They were out of razrs, basically. Just had RAZR HD's and one regular MAXX. Couldn't talk them into it though, sadly.

I'm on my "new" used Bionic and it's actually much much better in terms of battery life. It's also nice to be able to type without fully relying on autocorrect :D

Also, I maintained root through the OTA this time around, thank god.

You will probably get a refurbed Bionic.

What you could do is FXZ the phone and then they'd only know that it was previously rooted from the qe check in recovery.

If they want to verizon you they can, but most likely they will not do jack.

I've heard of that, but I've seen plenty of 0/0 so it may be broken only on some phones.  At any rate, like I said, they probably won't do anything, but and FXZ will remove active traces of root off the phone.

If It's under warranty its likely the extended warranty so they will have it shipped to you from them and they dont care. Hell they shipped a refurbed Bionic to a friend of mine and it was still rooted lol.

In case you dont read it you have 5 or 7 days to send them back the bad Bionic or they will charge you $500 for the bionic they sent you.
