I have an older version of Dolphin Browser HD installed.   I wanted to keep a version that still permitted the choice to keep Flash Player on.  On the App Info screen under manage apps, I have the Show notifications box unchecked.   I do not want the app to update and lose control over Flash Player (which is still not working right, but that's another discussion).

I did not see any option on the Google Play site to selectively stop update notifications for a single app.

Any suggestions on how to ensure that when I periodically get notified of updates for various apps, that this is not one of them?

Also, as long as I am here,  Does anyone know which release of Flash Player will work with Dolphin Browser HD version 8.5.1?

Thanks.

There are settings for app Updating, not app update notifications.

However, using Titanium backup (you have to be rooted to use it) you can detach that app from the market so when your phone checks for new apps it will not add Dolphin to the list.

First, thank you all for the responses.   I am rooted and I do have Titanium installed.  So what would I need to do in order to shut down the update notification.   Also, for folks that have wanted to retain Flash player, am I utilizing a correct approach?

You can always use titanium Backup to detach Dolphin Browser from the play store. That will ensure it does not update and will not notify you to update.

Edit: sorry just saw johns post. Do what he said ;).

in the new playstore there is an option to turn off notifications for updates version 4.0.25  . Also how do you detach an app from the playstore with titanium?

You can detach an app in TiB pro by long pressing the app name in the Backup/Restore list. However, it does not seem to stop the play store from trying to update the app, AFAIK.

So if it doesn't prevent Play Store from updating, then what is the setting in TiBu really accomplishing?
