the other option if you cant get this working is to get Matts JB Uility, its all in one so it will reset you back to clean jb then get you root with the razr blade exploit and then install SS. All in one makes it easy.

I was rooted with 4.0.4. Utility, I upgraded to JB 4.1.2. Lost root. Tried Dans razr_blade but got the following error series:

[*] Press enter here once you have completed the above steps.

I really like 4.1.2 but would like to get back my root access.

Any help/advice would be appreciated

Sounds like you may have had SS installed.....did you first remove/uninstall Recovery?

had superuser installed but any reinstallation failed. Did not attempt the remove/uninstall recovery. Was not aware that I needed to do that first.

I have used Matts JB utility, but not with data wipe, used option 2. It did get JB installed but failed to install SU (maybe because I had not uninstalled Superuser from original rooting?). Should I try option 1, data wipe? can I save off data first?

thanks for your help.

Probably because the Smartactions was updated, use Option 1, then do NOT setup and google junk, and immediatley do Option 3 to root.

Understand run Matts utility, option 1, skip step for Smart actions, and then execute 3. Should I then install the other root apps, like SS, titanium, etc.?

Do not skip the smart actions step. Just do root before logging into your google account

I have removed all of the apps that require root access.

I am going to attempt to backup all apps and data. After completing, I'll rerun Matts utility wiping all data and attempt rooting the new system.

I'll advise you of the status of the phone before attempting to login to google, download any new root apps, etc.

Thanks for your help......have JB rooted. Unfortunately, did not do a good job on backups and have a long way to go to get back where I was.

Any advice on a good data and apps backup?
