Hey all,

Currently running most recent Rage M rom with the gsm fix on Straight Talk (AT&T byod sim). Have been using this for about a week now with no problems. All of a sudden today, I've got a poor signal and a "rilj" wakelock according to wakelock detector that has kept my phone awake almost constantly since I pulled it off the charger this morning. Hasn't been able to connect to data once since then. I have no idea what's happened! I've tried toggling airplane mode, turning off location services, rebooting, and clearing cache/dalvik with no success. Ideas?

Just did a quick search, and saw something.  Turn on airplane mode, reboot phone, turn off airplane mode.

I had to read a little about RIL. It's the interface between telephony service and the radio hardware (simplest explanation).  For some reason, it's consistently searching for service, that's causing RILJ is keeping the phone awake.  I don't know why, I'm trying to read about it because I am very new to the android world.

edit:  I also saw a suggestion to turn off location reporting in all your apps.

edit of the edit:  Also saw a suggestion that said this would happen if your RIL doesn't match your baseband.  Download GetRIL from the PlayStore and it will check to see if they match.  If not, it will ask you to download a compatible RIL.  Good luck.

Alright, I'll give the airplane mode reboot thing a shot. I don't have location reporting turned on in any apps :S

Tried rebooting with airplane mode on to no effect. After the reboot, alarm manager is also keeping my phone awake quite a lot. I would download gitril from the playstore, but without data, that's not going to happen until I get home and have wifi. Why might this happen all of a sudden? Like I said, been using it problem free for a week, no changes to anything.

I have no idea.  Try re-flashing the GSM mod.

Got this figured out. Turns out somehow my autopay for straight talk got messed up and they disconnected me because I didn't pay for the month. If anyone is ever curious how to check this, try calling someone. If you get a message saying you have been disconnected, then there's your problem! Payed for the month and data came back on, no more wakelocks! :D

Love my RAZR M

Oh man, that is good, but it sucks you got your service ogt cut off.  Made me LOL a little because it seemed like something was really wrong with the phone. ;)
