I'm still on TWRP 2.2.2.1 but it's up to v2.5 on their website. Bionic isn't on their compatible devices list so does anyone know if it's possible / how to upgrade to 2.5 or at least a new version?

The Bionic is not supported.  Your best bet is SafeStrap.

I second that one,, safestrap is TWRP modded to work on bionic version, pretty sure hashcode did the legwork to make that work, feature wise its great.  Works fine, apps that can rip apk's from twrp read the backups from safestrap the same also.  3.11 is current version.

Get version 3.11.   Install then open and install recovery,  on reboot you will get your menus.

I don't dial 911
