Why update to 181 in the first place? What is the advantage?

Updated to .181 now my Google contacts won't open, anyone else having this issue.

because if you wont the offical ics from big red its going to be based on the .181 update not .173

I updated with no problems. Google contacts seem ok.

I forgot to unfreeze my bloatwrare before updating but all seems well. Used voodoo and root came right back.

Keep in mind that much of Moto's roms are intertwined and freezing things can lead to adverse results.

yea I know. But thats why i like posting a list of things ive froze.. later on if i notice any issues, I can look back and try to narrow down what might be causing said issue.

Or if others had same/similar issues, they might be able to chime in with their remedy

Hi, I'm trying to get the 181 update loaded but it keeps faling not sure what to do. "!" get this on load when it gets through about 20%

I have it rooted but I have voodo so I unrooted it temorerly I also got TI backup pro and I made sure I dont't have any frozen apps.
system version now is 6.12.173.xt912.Verizon.en.US --- 2.3.6

Any ideas let me know please.

I believe you have to be 100% stock to get the update, not just unfreeze apps. That's probably why you're getting the ! . At this point you might as well backup your apps and data with Titanium Backup, and use RSD lite to RSD fresh using the 181 fastboot file -

Ok so I tried the utility but it did not work I ran the install and selected option1 did not work since i was at the 6.12.173.xt912.Verizon.en.US --- 2.3.6

I tried the OTA update still no luck. It looks lke 2.36 is stock but I do have root. will try voodo and hide it if it does not work should i try master reset?
