Ahh man I am getting update failed when trying to install. I think it's do to the Go faster Mod I installed. Any ideas on how to reverse this without wiping all my data??
Do you have a backup of stock 173. Restore it if you do plus make sure bloatware is intact

That would have made sense huh? I'm pretty sure my backup has the mod already installed. Learning that lesson the hard way.

Aren't they saying on the other thread that Matt's 151 motofail will re root without having to go back to 173?

Yea some say you can root 181. But the key is to get 181 update to install first

W/ that said my other razr (stock rooted) on my chicky snack's phone is getting update failed. She's on her way up to the city so when she gets here I'll try temp unrooting. She's not droid savvy as far as all that is concerned.
I'm beginning to wonder if the OTA won't take if it sees you are rooted. More fail from moto. She's gonna be pissed if I have to wipe her phone and work my way back up. So hopefully OTA rootkeeper will work for her phone.

+1...Matt's Utility will root .181. Did it yesterday. Some say?????? I'm telling you stock unrooted 181 will root fine w/ motofail or Matt's 1.51 tool.

Should work to temp unroot then run dhackers method to regain root. Haven't tried it yet but I'm going to give that a shot for people who lose root w the upgrade.

I did the temp unroot in Voodoo before .181 installed. I'm not sure that temp unroot was necessary though. Anyhow, Voodoo restored root with no issues. I suppose I could go back to .173 and try again without doing the temp unroot.
Exactly what I'm gonna try tonight:)

I have bootstrap installed
I am rooted
I used Voodoo to temp unroot and keep root
Update installed fine and pretty quick.
Some were talking about improved data speeds and i thought that was hard to believe with the great speeds i was already getting... So i did a speed test before and after the update and I did get about 8Mbps faster after the update.
