Front Page Poll

 

I don't know about the rest of you but I HATE the new "Hangouts" GApp that replaced "Gtalk". OMG, I HATE IT SO MUCH! I appreciate Google attempting to roll the "Google App experience" into all one UX. But honestly, I'm not even sold on Google+ at this juncture(new or old). And now I feel like Google is trying to shove their user "experience" down my throat. So this will be a front page poll about the new "Hangouts" app replacing Gtalk for Android. I'm curious if I'm alone or not.

 

BTW, for those like me who just CAN'T HANDLE "Hangouts". Here is

Maybe i need to get used to it but ive been trying to do that since it was realeased. not happening thus far lol

Completely hate it! I immediately went back and pulled a talk apk out of a ROM backup and ditched the hangouts action. It would be fine as a stand alone app.
"If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is".

meh... works as intended IMO. Is it the coolest looking app? No but it's also 1st gen and google has been pretty quick with updates lately.

 

I do have to say I love the animation of the 3 dots so you know someone it typing.

They could have added that feature to Gtalk though. Actually many chat clients like Trillian or Digsby already HAVE that feature (at least on their PC clients). I don't care for Trillian on Android as Gtalk was sufficient. HOWEVER, I REALLY HATE this new "Hangouts" thing. It's less like an Instant Message client and more like a....idk what the hell it is, but it's a pain in the ass.

It's pretty cool!! Yeah, updates are smooth, really like look and feel!!

If they add online indicators than I have absolutely no problem with it. Like the look and function except for that.

That and voice only calling, I think those are my two biggest gripes, aside from the not so subtle pushing for a Google+ account.

Love it. Instant share with pictures is amazing. Group chats are so much more smooth. I like being able see when someone is looking at the messages.

Online indicator doesn't bother me. I'll send a message anyway, if they don't respond right away then I'll wait.

Overall 100x better than gtalk.

No they aren't... That and online indicator are huge setbacks for me but I'm trying... Hopefully they will update quick

And to add people you have to message them or something... Still haven't figured that out

I like and hate it at the same time. I was a late adopter to using talk and was used to it..but I hated not being able to attach a picture. Hangouts isn't that bad now that I've been using it.Although I'm still learning G+ and none of my friends outside of the forum are using it..the integration is a waste for me..but a good addition for people who are actively using G+ instead of Facebook.

I hadn't used talk much but started with Hangout as Skype was using too much bandwidth. Here in Afghanistan it's Satellite only so I love the minimal bandwidth compared to Skype. I do like how it pings my phone and desktop both when I get a call.

BS on that one! Once I restored the LAST true "Talk.apk", I was once again, in true bliss. You will have to pry "talk" form my COLD, DEAD HANDS...GOOGLE!  :

Hangouts was killing my phone! 20 seconds before i could type. Missing messages. Im tired of it! I uninstalled updates from Hangouts and it restored Talk automatically. I didn't have to use the .apk you provided. I have downloaded it for safe keeping.
