What is your opinion on the "Hangouts" replacement of the outgoing "GTalk"?

I like hangouts on my computer like within G+, but this stupid app is (was) God awful, I've gone back to Talk.

I as well have taken the hangout app off.... gone back to Talk...... all in all I think it is good and has potential to be great..... it just needs a bit of work :)

I never used talk so I guess I'm not biased against hangouts... Works great for me! My friends and I use it to chat, both video and text, with no issues? I don't see what's wrong with it.

Nothing is really wrong per say with it....
I guess for some of us we are creatures of habit (to an extent) and it was/is just too much of a change all of a sudden :)

I hate not knowing if somebody is online or not. I rarely use it now because I'll feel like a pest if I send messages offline. That's what email is for.

We use it for our local ingress faction. We used messenger before. There are some things that those on iPhone like. It's a little slower but the ability to carry on conversation on PC/tablet or phone is nice. Have had some issue with tablet not carrying over messages but fine between PC and phone.

I cleared data after the upgrade to hangout and it seems to work better

After using it for a couple of weeks. ..I kinda like it. .except for not being able to see who's on. Makes it easier to have a team conversation. Just wish it would sync better with multiple devices. ..like if I turn on my RAZR or bionic. .they automatically begin notifying of all the comments that have been made. I thought that I saw something about it being a global type fix with Gapps at I/O?
