Hi guys! Somehow I accidently deleted "com.motorola.setupwizard.controller" And now my setup wizard will not run at all. What do I need to do to restore my phone back to factory and unroot it? I have looked around but I am not sure what needs to be done or the process for doing it. Any help would be appreciated.

You rock! Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't tried it yet I am trying to figure out how to back up my text messages... I have some important texts I need to save. Is there a way to start a sms backup program through shell? Or can I copy and paste it using QtADB or something of that sort? Where are they kept in my  phone?

You're welcome .... ......

As far as SMS .... I am not really sure where they are stored..... I know backup is in-fact possible..... I'm just not 100% sure how .... if they are stored in the messaging app or odex (which lives in /system/app) you may be able to use
Adb to pull them
Maybe someone that has more knowledge on that can tell you better

Also if you can still boot and access your messages..... if all else fails you can always copy the text directly and paste it into email.... and send it to yourself.... I know that is a long, klunky process but you will have the info

Nope I can't get to my messages. All I can access is my settings menu and I can't run any programs from it at all. And I tried to copy it from QtADB shell but I can't seem to get root access from it to access the directory it is in. How do I do it in windows CMD? I did it once before I just can't seem to find the tutorial I used.

If you can't get root access..... you won't be able to pull any files out of /system....

can you access your sdcard via computer..... if so.... I will try to get the com.motorola.setupwizard.controller for you and you can try to side load it...... its worth a try....

Could I extract the system.img from DROID_RAZR_M_Utility_1.20 that you posted and get the file that way? Is there a quick and painless way of doing it?

Yes you can..... I'm just not sure how to extract the system.IMG tho

Yeah I tried it with winhex... It keeps telling me its not a multiple of 512 so it's not complete. Plus I haven't a clue as to how to extract the file I need.

Hmmmmm....... funny thing I just got the same error a few min ago...... so I tried a different system.IMG and it worked... so I must have done it right LOL .....

Anyway..... we will figure it out.....

That's weird. Could one of the ROM authors pass me the file I need? lol They might have it sitting somewhere in a folder.
