Way to remove motorola dialer and use stock AOSP dialer or 100% working AOSP 4.1.2 ROM?

I have my Razr HD MAXX unlocked and rooted as well as CWM on the phone.  I am wondering if there is a way to remove the Motorola phone dialer and instead use the one you would find in an AOSP build?  I really hate not having my contact directory in the same app as my dialer.

I am using the stock VZW 4.1.2 firmware.

Or prehaps is there a really good AOSP 4.1.2 ROM that works with the XT926?  Zero issues ROM I mean :)

Try Eclipse Resurrection that can be found here...

It's stock based but has an AOSP feel to it and has the dialer app you are looking for but uses Nova as the default launcher (so no stock circles widget). I've been running it for a week on my replacement phone and ran it for 2 weeks prior on my last HD Maxx with absolutely no issues what so ever. Not quite the quadrant scores I got with lets say the DST build but certainly a lot better than the ports that have come to our device and the camcorder works.

Hopefully this helps?

I have been using it a bit too yesterday trying to figure out which one I like the most.  I like it except its dark look.  I am looking more for a pure AOSP look.   Honestly what I want to use is CyanogenMod 10 but everyone abandoned that for CM 10.1 so there are a lot of bugs left in the CM 10 build that were not resolved.  I have no idea why though..you would think attention would have went into CM 10 to make it stable since the 4.1.2 kernel came out.

The thought process going into building CyanogenMod is confusing to me for this device.  I have been using CM with my Droid 1, Galaxy Nexus, Motorola Xoom, both my B&N Nook and Tablet, and now trying for my Razr HD.  With all the previously mentioned devices the teams stuck to the heart of CM and focused on stability and uninformed builds across devices.  For CM 10.1 on the Razr HD we have many different people building for the device from the same team...no way to really know whats in each build..a pre overclocked kernel (not a great idea since warranties were voided when the BL was unlocked).  Makes me wonder what else was deviated from the standards that CyanogenMod holds on their "official devices".  I would just love to see the same care, standardization, and level of expectations followed for the unofficial Razr HD CM 10.1 builds as CyanogenMod teams follow for the official devices.  In other words i have come to trust what CyanogenMod does with my device..I do not trust these unofficial builds as much due to what I mentioned earlier.  I am thankful someone is developing  CM 10.1 for it so I do appreciate it...I just think I will be holding off more towards when its more stable and perhaps CM will make it official one day.

Yes I understand what you mean. I have tried several unofficial CM/AOSP ROMS myself but I find myself coming back to stock builds of ROMS. They just perform better for the Razr HD/HD Maxx. The hybrid ROMS are really cool too but they have the same issues as the rest. I also really like the Motorola products too but they seem to be the last devices that get official builds of anything. I realize that it has to do with the bootloaders being locked but this device has been unlocked for what 2 months now and all we're getting is ports of everything. It's almost like developers hate Moto/Verizon or something. I'm really thankful for what is out there to flash and all the hard work that goes into porting a ROM but there's just too much stuff that is broken and causes issues. I really wish I knew how to do any of this stuff so I could help but I'm clueless. Well good luck jeremy I hope you find what you are looking for.

Oh yes almost forgot, I like the dark look myself and it also saves battery since black pixels use almost no battery.
