So i have been watching many threads on XDA and posting in many threads here.  I have found some ROM's to be darn close to what I am looking for.  There is one in particular I'm going to try once it comes out for my model.

However my hearts desire is a pure 100% stock 4.1.2 AOSP rom thats fully functioning.  Is this possible and can someone make it?

I am trying myself to learn how to..i built a ew for my GNEX once but that was very easy since the code and make files were already there.  All I had to do was pull the binaries from my stock rom that was not supplied on the nexus site.  So effectively I have never really built one by adding a device to AOSP.

If its money it takes to get it done then please pm me with a price...i really want a pure AOSP 4.1.2 rom that works perfectly :)

It's not completely impossible, but it's a very complicated process because Motorola never released all of the kernel source code for this device. So, it needs to all be done from scratch, which is no small task. I think the CLOEST thing you will find would be Hashcode, EPinter and DHackers CyanogenMod 10.1 port. This is now Android 4.2.2, not 4.1.2, but I'd call that a bonus. CyanogenMod is based on the AOSP source but has a few extra features. None of the AOSP features are removed though, it's only additions, not subtractions. It's also no based on the Blur roms that come as the stock system on this device.

Umm,

has been compiling "nightlies" of that ROM for quite some time. So you may want to take a look

if you're looking for as close to AOSP look as possible.

Thank you for the reply.  So even though we now have a VZW 4.1.2 build we are unable to pull the binaries to support the hardware for that Android level and make it work in AOSP 4.1.2?

Reason im shooting for 4.1.2 or CM 10 is because I would think things would work now since VZW released the os version to match.  Work abandoned on CM 10 in favor of CM 10.1 but CM 10.1 does not have a working camcorder, gps issues, etc..  Seems like CM 10 could be much more stable now that we have the binaries that can be pulled from the VZW 4.1.2 build.  At least thats how it was for my Galaxy Nexus and CyanogenMod.

I might be way off...like I said im learning so im not arguing :)

I loaded CM 10 on my phone last night. You can use the kernel found here

after you install it and it will get rid of the screen off issue reported by everyone. The stock CM 10 can be found here

When I loaded it onto my phone it ran smoothly but wasn't what I really wanted. I flashed the ROM set it up then I flashed the kernel I also posted for you to find. I think this is going to be the closest thing you're gonna find that you're looking for.

DirtyDroidX that appears to be a CM 10.1 build 4.2.2.  If thats the case then the issues such as camcorder exist still and I noticed one of the other CM 10.1 builds that I used from skillrax (spelled that name wrong) also didnt find my ICCID.  Data still worked so not sure if its even an issue really.

Thank you for the help of finding some AOSP roms though and I do appreciate it.  I just wish there was still some work with 4.1.2 CM 10...it seems to be a much better option right now until 4.2.2 comes out for the Razr HD and CM 10.1 can rip out the binaries.

I am also concerned with the kernel development for JB 4.2.2 and the Razr HD. From Hashcodes post it appears he might not be working on it anymore.  Someone mentioned that commits are not being made and he has moved on to his Kindle.  I wonder if we can get a fund together to get him to work on it again. :)

In dhackers kernels, he fixed the camera, just not the camcorder yet.

I'm not sure if this is something you are looking for, and I know this thread my be almost dead, but Nitro has an AOSP build with a working camcorder.  You can find it here:
