Exactly! As long as they don't change it again. When the new fastboot files hit the scene we should be able to use those to flash forward... at least that's my optimistic opinion! Lol

That would be a great outcome. My thought is that they wouldn't even have an experimental build on a bad bootloader. So hopefully this BL version is here to stay.
If it weren't for the damn efuse we could likely flash the mbm from the dev edition but Moto no likely that idea. Bastards.

For the question about "charge only".I don't think you're going to see the charge only option. I mean I could be wrong but that is how AOSP ICS is... so unless moto decides to implement something different... it is what it is until someone from the community decides to tackle the job.

There is a charge only apk in system/app as well as the odex file for it, but it is not an option when plugged in to USB. I clicked on it to install & it asked if I wanted to replace the system app, chose yes, installation failed.

You might have to mount system as r/w first

WHY in the hell would you put yourself through all that?? Just check your system version. That will tell you what system you're on. But honestly if you can't tell the difference between ICS and GB you should really reconsider flashing leaked builds...

I did it because for some reason data had issues when i was on .173 so i upgraded to .181 and that was fixed, i flashed another rom before the leak so i used utility to get a clean slate. then when i went to .84 from .173 and i had the same data issues so i went back to .173 then up to .181 then back to .84(didnt take me to .85?) and all worked fine.WHY in the hell would you put yourself through all that?? how did you flash back from .84 to .173? im not sure you really updated to .84 if you were able to flash back to .173...I did it because for some reason data had issues when i was on .173 so i upgraded to .181 and that was fixed, i flashed another rom before the leak so i used utility to get a clean slate. then when i went to .84 from .173 and i had the same data issues so i went back to .173 then up to .181 then back to .84(didnt take me to .85?) and all worked fine.

Yeah, I think he must have been on 74 because he said he went from 173 to 84 and that its not possible. 74 was built to update from 173 but 84 you had to have 181.

the differences i have noticed with both versions is
.84- The screen was a little bit sluggish on home screen, keyboard keys were a tad bit smaller, had 4g/wifi issues, some games ran better on 84 than 85 and vise versa. battery life is about the same as 85. Had more issue with widgets on 84 than 85. if you use a launcher like go launcher. it slows down your phone for some odd reason. on 84 and 85. if your going to use a launcher. Use APEX. these are really the only things ive picked up on so far.

Look, roballo not trying to be shlong but do you even know what your talking about? There are no data issues on the .84 leak, you can't even go to .84 leak from .173, and lastly you can't go from .84 to .173 via fastboot files. I mean there are some lucky people but very unlikely.
