This is a noob question, but I'm new to the RAZR and the ICS-based ROMs running on it. I did a quick search for it, but couldn't find anything that answered this. If this is a redundant question, I apologize, and I will take no offense to a moderator deleting this and sending me a short PM telling me why. I've been around XDA and Android Central forums long enough to know how frustrating it is for new people to come in with questions easily answerable by searching.

Do the ICS-based custom ROMs allow you to use ICS-exclusive apps, like Chrome, Apex, and Nova? The ability to use those three apps is the primary reason I want to upgrade to ICS before the official build is released.

I'm thinking that I was able to run GB-exclusive apps on my Charge while running GB-based custom ROMs before the official GB was available from Verizon. However, I can't think of any apps that were GB-exclusive that I used during that time, so I may have just made that assumption without testing it.

I talked to a friend who is running a custom ICS-based ROM on his Bionic, and he told me that he is unable to run Chrome, but he has been running Apex for weeks without any problems.

If the answer to this question depends upon which custom ROM I am running, does anyone know off the top of their head which ones support Chrome, Apex, and Nova? I am the most interested in Gummy and Eclipse, as I found them to be very stable and reliable on the Charge. Would this be a better question to ask in each of the ROM-specific threads instead of as a general question in the Apps forum?

Thanks in advance.

That is the one ROM I want to stay away from for the time being. I'm not afraid of bricking or anything, I'm just hesitant to do something that can't be undone at this time. I'm sure a solution is on the near horizon, I'd just prefer to wait until that solution is available. Thank you for the info, though.

Chrome is special -- it requires hardware acceleration to function properly, which none of the CUSTOM ICS builds currently have. The leaks have it, but that's definitely no business for a n00b since it's an extremely risky process.

Apex and other launchers run fine, bit they do require ICS.

Chrome does not work on any of the custom ICS because they run off the Gingerbread kernel.

Yeah I'm really enjoying Chrome. I'm disappointed in Nova and Apex, though. They are identical, and not really much of an improvement from stock. Maybe it's just because ICS stock isn't bad and there is only so much you can do with a launcher.
