Hello I am relatively new to all of this android modding and such, I am trying to make a nandroid backup because that's what I read you are supposed to do before you do anything in case things go bad, I unlocked my boot loader, I have onandroid installed, nandroid manager, busy box, I had made a backup before but accidently put it on internal storage so I deleted it through nandroid manager, now I have created a folder in my SD card just for a backup and I called it my recovery, but now I can't get it to backup... I have no idea what's going on??? I would just like to maybe use soft keys to customize a little bit, maybe try some different themes/ROMs that are debloated or something, but I can't seem to get past this first step, I have done countless hours of research but I'm not a computer tech guy, I am an Electrician I wire houses and standby generators, so I am very green at this

Did you flash a recovery? Twrp and CWM are your options

Your backup is actually made in recovery. There is a backup option in the recovery menu.

Yeah when I first downloaded online nandroid it wouldn't backup, then I had my SD card out for some reason while I was doing some things on raidiocomm, forgot to put SD card back in and tried a on android backup and it worked! I was excited! Well I jumped in the shower, came out and it said internal storage low, and the phone was very very slow so I turned it off and back on, went to nandroid manager, deleted my backup, and tried it again to the external SD card, now its doing the same thing as it did when I first downloaded nandroid, Idk I grew up in the 90's so I know how to navigate around on computers and move files and stuff on phones to put custom ringtones in and easy stuff like that, I just get confused when it comes to these kinds of things

I don't know what that nandroid back up app is but you need to boot the phone into recovery and then choose back up. That will make an actual correct nandroid backup for you

OK, I am thinking that you have not installed a custom recovery at this point such as CWM or TWRP, is that correct?  This is something you would want to do since you've unlocked the bootloader.  It is in that recovery that you would want to perform your backup - not through an app.  This gives you the best coverage if something goes wrong in a flash.
