I installed safestrap today and backed up my stock ROM to the stock slot. First off my boot loader is locked to help clarify things. My next step was to download dead rage ROM and try to install it to slot 1 and this is where I ran into a snag. It shows in my downloads as a zip but I can't figure out what to do next. Probably something simple for you guys I just need a point in the right direction thanks.

After you activate a slot in SS recovery menu, navigate to where the ROM is, select it, then slide to flash.

Alright couldn't wait. Installed dead rage and said failed then rebooted then there it was. Seems to work fine just messed around a bit. One thing I noticed was its on my internal memory and not the SD card. Is it supposed to do that? Must have done something wrong ?Screen shots if anybody interested. Another thing I noticed. The usage bar appears to be correct but what it says I have left for space is way off. Should be about 3.2gigs not .94gb. Weird.

So here is a screenshot of available storage after deleting ROM slot dead rage this morning. And redownloading dead rage zip. All normal and the colored usage bar was exactly the same before downloading the zip. Any ideas on what happened?

OK installed dead rage again and positive it was set to go to the SD card. Got zip install successful and below forget what it was called but said failed. This time I wiped cash and delvec . Not spelled correct but you should know what I mean. After it said successful on both. Rebooted and now running dead rage. Same result as above so now I wonder which one is correct. I know some of you have installed this with SS and hope somebody chimes in with there results with this.

Your storage space is low because SS creates Rom slots. You should have picked a size when you set up the slot. 1g, 2g, etc. That's one of the downfalls of SS. Is there a reason you have not unlocked your booloader so you can use CWM or TWRP. That will give you your space back

As far as space goes the only option when creating a slot that works is 1gig. Probably because my internal is lacking. I have concidered unlocking but not computer savvy so I figured I'd try this first. When you say I'll get my space back how much are we talking about?

Finally the site is back up. It was down for me anyhow. Well I decided unlocking my boot loader is the way to go. SS reminds me of beta players in the mid 80s a fading trend. And to my surprise it was very easy doing myself. Funny side affect when installing dead rage through SS it replaced my boot up logo with the dead head and after unlocking its still present so no warning. I checked and I am in fact unlocked status 3. I have a few next steps in mind. First twrp and a file manager. Been searching for a simple boot/fast boot etc app but not sure what's best. Any other suggestions welcomed to get me ready for my next ROM install. Thanks all.

I like using rombtoolbox pro, for the file manager, rebooter options, and cpu control, but you'll find almost everyone uses a different combination of apps to achieve their own results. My digestion is to explore the app store and see what's out there. Most apps have a free version, to test before you buy. Happy flashing!
