Hey,

Some weeks ago i switched from my old razr V3xx which worked quite fine for over 5 years.
Now that i have my very first smartphone and played around with it, rooted it etc. i kind of miss some features of my old phone.

- Volume/Audio Profiles
With the old razr you could switch between mute, vibration only, loud and some combinations of sound and buzz.
each with an individual set of ringtones if you wanted.
and if you set it to be mute, it actually was mute. no matter what button you pressed in whatever application you were in.

The new razr (i have the european version) doesnt seem to have that.
there are apps to handle it but nothing quite as smooth and easy as i had it before.
and even if you set it to be mute: it still finds a way to make noises.
if i accidentally open the voice command app that stupid robot voice assumes i want her to talk -_-

- End a Call when I want to
The old razr accepted a call when i opened it up and i ended the call when i shut it. That's about it

droid razr has fancy touch buttons all over the screen when you call. you have to swipe around to accept and to end call.
furthermore it turns off the screen when i put it on my ear. every time i have to worry that i might have ended the call by
touching some buttons with my face. why can't i accept/end call with the on/off button?

- Mediafinder
old razr had an app called "Mediafinder". when you clicked it you had acces to all of your music, videos and pictures alike.
easy to use, no unneccesary stuff.

droid razr has several apps to handle my media. The one for music is quite ok, i have to admit. but the gallery is somewhat $#!+ty. it shows me my pictures and thats okay. but why on earth would i need a link to social networks here? in the first weeks i didn't even recognize that this app was using a lot of data to sync up with something i haven't even activated (motocast). Data Saver fixes that however.

- Battery
No Brainer i guess. though the Maxx seems to get it right (or at least better) the new razr doesnt catch up with a batterylife of more than a week. but then again: thats a problem with all new phones and it will probably take some years to find sarium krellide or something similar (kidding).

I know this whole thread may seem like i hate all those new app-internet-touchy-slidey stuff but i really enjoy my new phone. it's making life easier in a way i haven't imagined before: having a useful calendar at hand, a browser that is actually capable of what it is meant to do, the many fun games and apps (like a guitar tuner) and lots of more stuff that comes in handy every day.
It just feels like the developers of smartphones are so obsessed with all this new stuff, so they forget about the simple things that would make the device perfect.

If you have similar thoughts and miss features of your old phone or - even better for me - if you know how to fix my little "unpleasantries": Thanks for you Answers!

TL;DR:
Old phones had stuff that new phones don't.
I want them back without abandoning the useful new technologies.

EDIT:
I just recognized this is the wrong forum.
if one of the mods would please move this thread? Thanks!

If you go to menu>settings>accessibility you can choose to have the power button end the call. I use that feature ALOT.

Good feature... I have used it before but I had to shut it off because I'd forget and try to wake my screen up in call (to look up a contact or pull calculator up...etc... for the person I was talking to) and I would accidentally hang up on a customer! It would be so much more useful if you had to hold power for a couple secs to end call rather than tap it... just my opinion

Just a couple things: the screen turns off so you don't hit buttons by accident with your face. And I also hate the stock gallery...crazy blur stuff. I'd look for other gallery apps. Sorry, I can't recommend anything because I've been too lazy to look for one to replace my own haha.

I have my old RAZR around here somewhere too...hmm
