Kinda afraid to root as I've been hearing that Verizon considers any Factory reset to be registering a new device and that could kill my unlimited data plan.

Hadnt heard that about factory reset.I was waiting for the Droid Fighter/Razar HD but the news on Wednesday caused me to pull the trigger and grab a Razar Maxx. It is supposed to arrive on Monday.

Same hear, lol. Its the IME and serial # that would be the thing that would determine if its a new device I would think.Hadnt heard that about factory reset.

Besides only thing that would kill unlimited data is signing a new contract.

A) you move from 3G to 4G after they put the share plans in effect or
if you get a subsidized phone and a 2 year contract renewal after the share plans are in effect.
It better not be switching between devices. I have to do that all the time at work. My SIM card gets a good workout and is rather promiscuous with different phones.

You can still swap SIM cards between devices. The way I read the announcements you only have to move to shared data and no unlimited if

It is not. I just confirmed with a Verizon rep that you do get to keep your unlimited.
