OK, I had a Droid Razr that I attempted to root & flash.  This ended up bricking it in the "Encryption Failed" boot loop.  I had an upgrade available so I went to a Droid Razr Maxx HD which I loved.  That phone took a little bath last night and so it is disassembled and drying out for a couple days.   :(

After beating my head against the Razr all day, I was able to unbrick it and its running 4.1.2. (Jelly Bean).  I am quite hesitant about trying to root this again and install a custom ROM since I no longer have a backup device.

I have gone through the how to's and such but I'm not sure what's the correct path to take forward.  I am now somewhat familiar with how to boot in to Fastboot, recovery, transfer zip files to SD card, etc.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.   B)

Awesome!  I was able to gain root access & install Safestrap3.  Now I have a ROM I am going to try & install.   :)
